Some positive, some negative.

Positives, feeding, clothing, sheltering poor, and things like that.

Negatives, drums in music, sugar and coffee and things like that.

Positive, good name.

Negative, some bad theology (Booths spiritual background, baptism, Lord's supper, etc).

The Salvation Army, and a one-time related organization Volunteers of America, are positive Christian organizations. I used to work part-time at a grocery store (my last job before turning age 70). The Salvation Army bell ringers would come in every Christmas season and set up their bell-ringing station close to the front door. This was always a positive influence in the grocery store at the Christmas season. Often there would be groups visiting the bell-ringing station as they would sing Christmas songs, and encourage shoppers to place donations in their red buckets.

The theology is not an issue here. These groups do good community work. We need more organizations like them.
