My wife is going in for knee replacement surgery tomorrow... I was going to take her but in preparing the house for the event after surgery by moving rugs and other thing that might cause her to slip, lost my balance and crashed into the floor and fractured my left elbow... So now a have a splint and am in a sling... Her son is taking us because I have to be there too, to see how I can help her in her rehabilitation and what can a 75 year old one armed man do?... We are going to get help from our church but we are still in between a rock and a hard place but our friends in our church said rest easy, we will take care of you and if you need anything, let us know... I have been on this board for almost 20 years and I have watched brethren argue and bicker and is that really how it is in doctrine?... What is church?... Is it a creed, a denomination mandate, if you don't believe as I believe, I do not even know if you are a child of God?... Or is as I believe and those I associate with, that if you show the attributes of God, how can you not be?... My wife and I will be okay because there are always children of God, who will step up when the need arises... What can happen next?... We also will step up when needed... Debate doctrines all you want... Church is about people!... Pray for us!... Brother Glen and Pam:)

I know what it is like.
Three years ago, Mrs. Salty broke her leg - She was in the hospital for about 2 weeks.

I was working at a convenience store at the time - hours normally were 1 pm to 10 pm.
Except for the Physical therapy specialist who came a few time - Mrs. Salty was home alone -
until I got home from work. Then she had multiple doctor visits - which we scheduled during my days off and or when
I was not on shift.
Here was the fun part - I was also in the hospital the same day, of her operation to have a pacemaker put in! So I could NOT be with her during her operation.
Bottom line - everything worked out and we came thu it together.

She had broken her leg is 3 places (fell off the porch) and had on a very large cast on.
Some friends came and dropped off. Some ladies from the church did come by as well
Rest assured that you will be on our prayer list.

Note: Mrs. Salty had to help me with the details - of this post (and that is all I am saying about that!)

Many years ago, I had a heart attack and was undergoing "bypass" surgery. My wife, sisters and mother were all there, very worried I might not make it off the table. However, they were surrounded by about 20 people from our church, praying and comforting, and doing what they could. Subsequently they provided meals, when I was convalescing at home, and those we some of the best tasting meals of my life.

God bless...

Since my 2018 retirement from AT&T Telecommunications it seems that I've had "ALL the above" medical ops/procedures done on my body. Where it not for my being a child of "He is the God that heals me," I'd probably not be where I am today. My PCP is also a Brother in the Lord & one to which I can request prayers for me & my brothers & sisters in Christ. He'll often go with Doctors Without Borders to 3rd world countries, etc. Not saying an unsaved MD can't do well, but it sure is a blessing to have one whose "Daddy" is mine too! When he's finished with his MD treatments often we'll have prayer for each other & for those we know need medical & spiritual help. When I told him about the Christian pre through HS School that the local church of which Im a member for the past 25 years, he said he's going to see if his daughter can at least get a yr or 2 at it. BTW, you can visit www.lighthousenashville.org to visit my local church & its link to the Christian Day School. (I'll often tell folks that some people @ LCS MUST have been praying for patience, but got me instead! ;) :0 :)

Prayed, brother.

Seems like a number of us have gotten old here on the BB. I joined in 2005, and am turning 70 in November. Time flies when you are having fun!

Thank you for the prayers my brother along with others they worked... Just an update... My wife is doing fine, with all the family and church love, she is up and with a walker is moving all over the house... Not in much pain and I feel I'm injured more than her... Good thing it was my left arm, that's in in a sling, being right handed but I can be some help as I fetch things... I am her help meet but don't know how much I'm helping to meet?... Marriage is give and take... Sometimes you are the giver and sometimes you are the taker but its all done in love... I think I married Wonder Woman and no matter what she goes through, I'm amazed as what she decides her next mission from God is?... I just wait and see, then get out of the way, when she's up and about the Fathers business... Then she gives me her list of honey dos and enlist me in the Fathers business shes in?... Any of you brethren have a wife like that?... Brother Glen:)

and next Monday, a single man in our church will be going in for a back operation.
I will be taking him to the hospital at 0530 Mon am
He said they told him, that he will be in for at least 3 full days.
Keep John in your prayers (yes, that is his real name)

Indeed, will be happy to include him in our prayers. Just trust that everything would just be fine.
