Will your Denomination matter at all upon being received in the Kingdom of Heaven?

No. Neither will your theology, religion, or creed.

Not one single tiny bit! :applause:

God is not going to ask us what church we belonged to nor what Christian denomination we boasted of nor if we were among the "powers that be" in a local church.

He isn't going to ask us for any credentials. We don't have. We can't get any.

He isn't going to ask us anything. He is going read our names from the Lamb's Book of Life and those who are written there are those who are covered in the blood of Jesus Christ.

I'm a Baptist.....but that doesn't mean a whole lot to me in terms of my eternal security nor my relationship with Almighty God.

There will be some from many denominations there.
Those that are saved by Grace will be there.

Its about to go to page 2. After that it will stop. The reason...there is nothing to debate here.

It was between your post or PastorSBC's post to go with. Both captured well absurdity of the thought of denominations in Heaven.

It goes very well with your other thread, and has the same answer.

The question reminds me of a joke most of you have probably heard in one form or another (there are dozens of versions, I'm sure). The poor (non-denominational) man gets to heaven and is greeted with love and appreciation. "Finally", he thinks, "I can live like everyone else and not be treated like an inferior just because I was poor!"

Then one day he hears a big parade outside. He asks his neighbor, "What's all the fuss?"

His neighbor responds, "We're celebrating the arrival of a Baptist!"

"Phooey", he says. "I thought I would be treated equally up here, even as a poor man. What's so special about Baptists?"

His neighbor responds, "Oh, you misunderstood. It's just that poor people make it into heaven all the time. It's so rare when we get a Baptist."

Substitute anything you want for "poor" and "Baptist" and the joke still works.

On second thought, if you substitute "orange" and "refrigerator" it wouldn't be very funny, I guess.

Of course it will make a difference. Haven't you folks ever heard of the Baptist Bride position?

For those of you who don't know about the Baptist Bride, let me explain.

An old preacher (a patriarch to me) in our area explained it to me.

Baptist are descended from the church founded by Jesus during his earthly ministry.

Therefore, the only true church is a Baptist church. All others are nice Christian organizations, but not true churches.

Ergo, Baptist Churches are the true Bride of Christ.

Therefore, only Baptists will be invited to sit down at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. The rest will be there, but they'll have to stand up and be observers only.

That's crazy, you say. But think about this. Baptists have traditionally believed that they are the closest think to a First Century church. Baptist churches are repositories of the truth taught by Jesus and the Apostles. If we're not, then we'd better get cracking, to look for a true NT church.

Now, I believe that when we all get to heaven, denominations will disappear, and we'll all be invited to the Marriage Supper. So I'm not a Baptist Bride-er

But some of you better watch it, lest you be stuck standing off in a corner.

    Mr OLD SCHOOL,

What does this have to do with denominations? What's the point of your original question?
