Just wandering how everyone feels about our grate President now? Do you feel hes still doing what needs to be done, or would you prefer to see him impeached or not:type:

I don't think it would be useful to impeach him now. In fact, it's arguable that he didn't really commit a crime in the technical sense.

The country finally has concensus on one thing; he's a very bad president. That's sufficient. An impeachment would just be more divisive.

Galatian is correct, the country has a concensus. This year's off-year vote should provide an excellent view of how the country views this president.

When it comes to impeachment, the opinions of "everyone" don't matter.

He has done nothing to be impeached for, but under certain circumstances, that won't stop impeachment from taking place.

President Bush has done somewhat well on some social issues. He has also done well in realizing that we had to respond with force to the 9/11/2001 attacks in which he made a good start but his administration hasn't shown good follow up after throwing the Taliban and Saddam Hussein out of power.

Outside of those areas he has been pretty much a disaster from a conservative/libertarian viewpoint, especially in failing to secure our borders from illegal aliens.

I feel pretty much the same way about Bush as I did when I elected him the first time and re-elected him the second time: He has done some things really well, some things really bad, and some things pretty predictably mediocre.

    The Good:

    1. Showing resolve on the war on terror by not cutting and running like the DEMS and the Isolationists would have us do.
    2. Great Supreme Court Nominees
    3. Tax Cuts

    The Bad:

    1. Faith Based initiatives
    2. NCLB
    3. Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants
    4. Big spender liberalism
    5. While he does show resolve by not cutting and running in the war on terror, he does not show enough resolve to stand up to the UN and the liberal thugs in the worldwide media to throw away political correctness and actually do what it takes to win the war. Too much paddy cakes going on here.

    The predictably mediocre:

    1. Foreign Policy with Israel. What an aweful, hypocritical disaster. But it is predictable that he would do that as it has pretty much been the same idiotic policies as every president since Carter with Israel.

As for Impeachment, I see no need to impeach him as of yet. If one of those illegal immigrants ends up attacking America with a terrorist attack, then we can talk. Even though the bad and mediocre outweigh the good, he was and still is the best that has been offered. There is no way I was going to vote for Gore, Kerry, or Peroutka.

It's nice to meet you Vera. You jumped right in the BB deep end :D

Bush has always been a bit to the left for my tastes, but I don't think that's an impeachable offense.

I agree with Joseph and Ken on this one. Bush has been a mixed bag. Could we do worse in 2008? Sure could, in either party. How about Huckabee vs Hillary? What do you think Joseph?

No way I would vote for Governor Busybody for president. I will be glad when his term ends here in Arkansas.

He's on my "no way I would ever vote for that person for president" list - along with McCain and Guiliani among the Republicans.

I really think Bush has done a bad job as president. He's done some things reasonably "ok" (i.e. social issues), but Iraq, spending, horrible foreign policy, etc. all make me unsatisfied with his administration.

In my view, he's the worst President in my lifetime (basically since 1950). I'm not at all certain that he's not the worst President in our history. What he did right after he found out about the second WTC tower being hit (nothing) says it all.

I think he probably deserves to be removed from office, but Cheney would be worse, so I would say leave him in.

He will probably will rank among the worst presidents in American history.

Nowhere close to being as horrible as Carter. Although he is not the best president, he is not in any way among the worse. He is a little better than average, IMO.

It's Presidents like Bush that make me thankful... for the fact that they can't run more that twice!

Having lived through the Carter administration with its 18% inflation rate, 21% interest rates, and decimation of our military, I can state without any doubt that Jimmy Carter was the worst president in U.S. history. If he had won a second term I am not at all certain that our republic would have survived it.

I used to be in favor of term limits but no longer. If people want to vote a president into office for three or four terms(even George W. Bush), then they should be able to do so. I am glad that the country had the good sense to not give Jimmy Carter even a second term.
