I think that since the premise of his statements are wrong "The war in Iraq is illegal" the rest falls apart.

That depends on whether you mean nationally or internationally.

So it is morally acceptable to pursue the death of innocent civilians, including women and children, through the use of car bombs and explosives in public places? The insurgency cannot claim collateral damage. It is their intent to pursue the murder of innocent civilians, not soldiers in combat.

This guy is a complete idiot with no legitimate sense of morality.

I bet somebody could make a good argument about why the UN should be defeated based on that logic. This is part of the reason why America should pull out from the UN and all other liberal commie international bodies and treaties. They should not have any jurisdiction over us at all as a sovereign democratic nation.

So how do you think international disputes should be settled? The good old-fashioned might makes right?

Yep. If not for that, we could still be living today under the 'axis' of Germany and Japan.

Mr Whitney sounds like an excellent candidate for emigration.

Nope. Right makes right. The UN has no moral authority nor the moral will to settle disputes in a just and right manner. In many cases, they are either directly responsible or complicit to the problem. Just look at their role in the oil for food scandal. Just ask the children in Darfur and other third world countries who have been routinely raped by the blue helmet "peace-keepers". The UN is worthless and should be defeated because of all the evil they perform in the world. If there is a dispute, I think the United States can and would do a better job of settling it diplomatically if possible than the UN. Democratic Nations like the United States and Israel are not the ones who need the oversight and direction of international treaties and bodies. We are not the major threats of the world. We are the best friends of the world. It is those nations who host human rights conferences who are run by two bit dictators who need to be babysat and supervised as to how to run their countries. Interestingly enough, they are the ones who arrogantly thumb their noses at the UN when it tells them to adhere to international law. America, Israel, and other democratic nations, while they are not perfect, are much more likely to adhere to human rights and standards of decency without being told to than are those nations who are run by tyrants and dictators. I think it has something to do with their form of government and how democracies are more accountable to the diverse population which elects them.

We live in a unique situation where we have a government that WAS founded on Biblical principals where people are free to choose their representatives. This author has no absolute moral right and wrong.
