The films that unfairly caricature Christians and the Christian faith seem somewhat limitless.

What films do you think present the fairest depiction of Christians and the Christian faith?

Two that come to my mind are The Big Kahuna and Amen.

The Christian characters in both films are flawed but deeply committed to the faith and come across as real human beings.

Can anyone add to these films? Does anyone disagree that these two films fairly depict Christian characters?

I haven't seen either one of those, but Chariots of Fire with its story of Eric Liddell always floats my boat, being a missionary! And I think its portrayal is fairly solid, even if Hollywood did do it!

I agree with John of Japan. Reality trumps fiction any day, even if the fiction is purporting to be 'based' on reality. I sort of vaguely recall a movie was made of The Hiding Place? If so, that would probably be on the positive side.

I'm not sure what you mean by "reality trumps fiction." It seems to me that fiction is what we use to understand reality. Fiction shows us exactly who we are and often what we should be. Reality is what it is, but fiction helps us interpret reality.
