webdog's definition of "troll" is anyone who dares ask questions and not accept his answers, apparently.

xdx, have you looked into a liberal Christian denomination?
First, that is straight from wikipedia and not "webdog's definition". Second, can you find a flaw in the answer I gave him? If you do, you are worse off than he.

BTW, you fit wikipedia's (not webdog's) definition quite well yourself!

Because I like the pastor. He's really cool and also experiences a lot of things with God but at the same time he's not goofy or weird. When you listen to him then you really have the feeling that he knows what he's talking about. He also shares a lot of personal experiences and since he's not weird he's much more believable than others.
The church only exists where it's at unless they decide to open up another church somewhere else.
The highlighted and underlined is where your problem is. You are looking for experiences and feelings. Chrisitianity isn't solely about that. Do your earthly relationships hinge solely on feelings and experiences?

So you'd go to a hurch where you didn't like the pastor and weren't particularly interested in the service? Fascinating.

so you admit to an unwarranted personal attack? Class act...

still waiting on the flaw in the answer I gave that you felt warrented an unprovoked attack...

I'd go to a church that loves the Lord, is based on the Word, that encourages service, and worships the One who gave me life. "liking" the pastor and the Sunday service was never a high priority or concern if the above things I mentioned were happening.

I would like to add...when does going to Church matter what we "like"?

I don't want hocus-pocus!

But I also don't want a dead, dry church where nothing is going on. This also doesn't help me. Being in a conservative church can also be depressing if you feel like these people also don't have a clue about how God is. I wish I had a church like this one here: http://www.vbf.org
But I think that such a church only exists one time. :tear:
I know this may sound a bit overkill, but have you considered moving? To another place in Germany that has a church you would and could study and be happy in? Or even to the USA where there are many churches, and you might find one that would help you study the Word.

I know these both might not be possible, but has it even been considered? Seeking and being a faithful Christian is more important than where you live. If you need to find a better church to help you become a better Christian, then move.

I do hope you find what you're looking for.

Jamie
