I voted no on the first question, but I want to clarify it by saying that I don't think a pastor or counsellor should ASSUME that an illness is due to sin. I think the possibility can be presented to the person, if the counsellor feels led that direction. But not that the counsellor should tell the person NOT to seek medical help.

Otherwise, Ive found that if a person is being judged by God with some sort of illness or mallady, they KNOW its a judgement from God, and they KNOW what the judgement is for.

I could not answer any as I don't think they are yes and no questions. Depends on why the person is sick. It could be from sin but maybe not.

    a story helps.
Seems a man who got caught in a flood had moved to his roof. he prayed to God to save him and was assured by God he would be delieved from the flood. a boat came along and he said "no I won't go God said He would save me and will wait on Him." the water continued to rise and later another boat came by and again he refused citing that God assured him that he would be ok. the water continues to rise and as he is perched on the very tip top of his roof a helicopter comes. they, via a load speker, tell the guy to get on the rope they would drop down . the man refuses. The man eventually drowms and once in heaven finds God and says "God you promised I would be ok." God answers "well I sent 2 boats and a helicopter. something else must have been the problem."

We can have all the faith in God's care for us but He made the medicine too. He guides the doctors and the nurses. He chooses what method He will use to heal. Don't miss the boat.

An illness may be due to a lifestyle that is/was sinful, but should be treated like any other illness that is not due to a sinful lifestyle.

I answered yes, because the question was: "Is it biblical?" The Apostle mentioned illness due to sin.

This does not mean that there are not illnesses unrelated to sin, this only means that much of our modern method of fixing the symptoms is missing the cause. Some of our lifestyle is sinful.

is it Biblical (for you) to tell someone else that their illness is due to sin? Am I reading it right?

Job's friends were telling him the same thing.

is Billy Grahm's failing health due to sin?

I don't know. But I would not tell him it was.

I guess the Apostle was not inspired when he wrote ...

In my Bible, he was inspired.

    AND I stated:

And if I know that their illness is the result of the sin, I would tell them so.

Repentance and the call to repentance are a major component of the Gospel.

I don't think you understand what I am saying. I did not disagree with anything you said.

but after some searching I will ask for the reference. (not the one concerning the Lord's Supper though). I will also do a more detailed search myself.

I don't think we should presume to tell someone that they are ill because we think there is sin in their lives. There is sin in all our lives. But only God knows for sure, and prehaps the ill person, but we do not know the mind of God concerning another person. And never ever should evertell anyone they do not need their medications, otherwise who decides which ones they don't need if they and their doctor say they do. Not to mention telling people what medications they need or don't need is praticing medicine without a license.

well I could not find the reference and I take your silence to indicate you could not either. So I guess it is not Biblical.
