...and why can't I delete it?

It keeps showing up as a "Security downldr" Risk.

I have run Norton, Spybot and Spyadware.

I have gone to Program Files.

It will not let me delete it.

What do I do now? I don't even know what it's for or how I got it.

    Thanks!

Yes, Pete. I DID think you would be a little quicker. [IMG]

I had two of the five listed:

    Download Manager
    P2Pnetworks

I have now deleted them both.

I will be back if that 'alert' shows up again. ;)

    Thanks, Pete! [IMG]

    Sue,

Download Microsoft Windows Defender. It used to be Microsoft AntiSpyware, but when it moved to beta2 they changed the name.

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/Microsoft_Windows_Defender_d4466.html

It is still free, and even less obtrusive than before. I have mine set to scan around 2 or 4 a.m. so it doesn't slow me down... wait a minute, I'm on here around that time... hmmmm...

Anyway, it is a good program to have, as it actively scans your computer for stuff each day at the time you specify. It also works a little differently than Spybot does, and Norton ain't the best out there (never heard of Spyadware).

    In Christ,
    Trotter

Thanks, Trotter, and I'm sorry. I had the wrong name.

    SpywareBlaster http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html

I have gotten rid of everything except itbill.exe. It won't let me delete. I guess I'll have to reboot in 'safe mode' and try to get rid of it.

Everything I've read on the MS ANti spyware(beta2) has been bout negative. Saying the original did better. I used the original till I had to re-do the computer a month or so ago & never re-installed it. I tried Spybot-Seek & Destroy & wasn't to impressed. Using ASquared now & it seems to do as good as any other out there & it's free also.
Spyblaster only prevents known malware that could attach itself directly from a website, not from an executed download.Still it seems to do a decent job at that. I run it, just make sure it stays updated, as with any maleware programs you have.
I have yet to see a single program that will catch or remove every single type of bug out there. Thats why it helps to learn how to go on your own seek & destroy missions!!!
