Let me begin by saying that I agree with these demands. I am concerned, however, that Sinora's government does not seem to be strong enough to meet these demands. Every general on Fox News agrees that the legit military in Lebanon is no match for Hezbollah. If Lebanon did attack Hezbollah and attempt to disarm them, there is also a great danger of civil war within their own country, and a danger of being attacked by Syria and Iran. So here is the question: If you were PM Sinora, with all the knowledge that you have about the weakness of your own government and military, how would you go about meeting the demands of the Israelis?

Their military is ANTIQUATED. They do not have the ability to stop ONE BATTALION of modern armor. Bradley fighting vehicles have more capability that do their MBT's.

He does not have the military capability to do anything that he has been given an ultimatum for. THAT is why he was given the ultimatum. As long as he cannot ensure the COOPERATION of the ISRAELI PALESTENIANS that ISRAEL placed in HIS COUNTRY, Israel claims the right of MAD (mutually assured destruction). Unfortunately, Lebanoon cannot destroy any of their neighbors. And the Christian country of Lebanon will soon be economically decimated again and will shortly not be a Christian country anymore.

Another Christian country (people) is being wiped out. And you wonder HOW the anti-christ will come to dominate the world?

The closed-door discussions are the only thing keeping Syria out of the conflict. The U.S. warns "don't intervene". It it was left up to Kofi Annan, Israel would cease to exist. He and the Arab states would rejoice for years if Syria could drive Israel out of Lebanon and get the U.S. to leave Iraq. Sinora is between a rock and a hard place. Privately wants Hezbollah to go, publicly can't admit it. It will take a 3rd party to break the impasse. U.N. paratroops?

I think that Israel has plenty of military power to make it so.

Well, now Kofi is talking about sending in UN peacekeeping forces - something Israel has begged to happen for years. Problem is, UN peacekeeping forces will end up in a ground war and it will turn into another Iraq debacle, as has happened in other nations where islamofascists ruled in spite of a "legitimate" government. Look at Afghanistan. Look at Somalia. As long as the Baaka valley isn't decimated, expect more Hezbollah and other terror groups (al Qaeda) strongholds and more homicide bombings, etc. Hopefully someone will carpet bomb the Baaka Valley before sending in ground troops. That is where the Hezbollah and other groups have dug in with training camps, transport weapons from Syria and Iran, and is the pipeline of the drug traffic out of Afghanistan (helping to finance these terrorist groups) which eventually ends up on the streets of London, Paris, NYC, and Peoria.
