What makes a Baptist a Baptist
Baptism is an outward projection of the belief in Christ and to show the death of your old life and the beginning of your new life in Christ.
I believe that baptism doesnt save you nor send you to heaven nor does it cleanse your sins only Christ forgives sin. I thought thats what everyone believes if they're Christian.
Not only that but this forum is for Baptist Christian denoms why not allow websites that are Christian does BB feel that only the baptist belief is right ?
Or is it safe to say that doctrine causes division among Christians and that if its bad its not Godly.....Oh I may have hit a cord there with that comment....God is not the author of Confusion.
Lets remember John 3:16
If you believe John 3:16 then your going to heaven no if's and's or but's about it....everything else you do after that is icing on the cake......
Mans idea of Doctrine has been seperating Christians from Christians for to long and its sad when you cant get 2 Christians even in the same denomination to agree and we wonder why people are lost and without Christ. We wonder why our churches aren't growing, We wonder why priest molest children, Why preachers have affairs with choir members, and why our youth are left with a distaste for the Word of God...Doctrine isnt bad. True doctrine is the Word of God not pieces of it but the whole Word
We cant even agree on The Word of God and that isnt Godly now is it. There is only one interpreter of the Word and thats the Holy Spirit.
Some Baptist believe you must be baptized to be saved....Where does the Word say that
Some Pentacostal services the whole church speaks in tounges at once the Word teaches that only 3 at the most and only with and interpreter.
Catholics believe that suicide sends you to hell.
The Bible doesnt say that in no way shape or form.
Now I'll ask you is this mans doctrine or Bible doctrine based belief......We make assumptions when we should not.
Why cant we all just be Christians.
