Well? Which one? I really hope Axl Rose from Guns-n-Roses accepts Christ as Savior. That guy can really rock!

So what about you? What singers or musicians do you hope accepts Christ as savior?

    Do you pray for them?

Bobby goldsboro I have been a fan of Bobby's for 32 years and appreciate the fact thatBobby sings songs that I would be comfortable listening to with my Great aunts, who are 95 and my little cousins who are five.

Stevie Wonder. Such a talent as that would be invaluable in the Kingdom. I have long heard rumors about him being saved, and he does mention Jesus or Christian concepts more, but I have never really heard him come out and proclaim Christ as savior, or renounce his former eclectic beliefs and worldly "new morality" lifestyle (divorces, etc. excused as "growing experiences"). So I fear he still may be eclectic, but simply mentioning the "Christian" aspects of the "universal world religion" more. That is common in pop-culture relgious sentiment. Earth, Wind & Fire was another one that seemed to become Christian (with Philip Bailey releasing "gospel" albums), but in recent years, have gone right back into the eclecticism and pagan themes. I was spiritually fed up with it and had to give away my whole collection of CD's!

Actually, I'm not looking to see any person in heaven--I'm looking to see the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray that everyone will come to repentance--as the Scriptures state in 2 Peter 3:9:

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

He wasn't secular, but I would love to meet him in Heaven eventually: Rich Mullins.

Can I change my answer to Vince Gill? Or I'll just add him. I'm not sure if he's saved or not, but man, he has an incredible voice.

I still pray for Willie Nelson's salvation if he doesn't know Jesus. He was raised in church, as were a lot of singers, getting their start in Gospel music. It is so easy to stray away from the Lord with fame and fortune. :(

A thought: After you post about your favorite singer, start praying for him/her to accept Jesus Christ if they haven't done so already. Maybe no one has ever prayed for that person's salvation before. You could be the one. :)

im going to say what Mike mck said and say "all of them"

but to point out a few like the OP asked:

    Jack Johnson
    Keaton Simons
    Jason Mraz
    Eminem
Moby (if not already i dont know)

and i just had a mind-block and cannot think of anymore - i will post others as they come to mind.

but thank you for the reminder (and quite the conviction) to pray for them... i dont do that enough.

    God bless

I'm going to say all also but a special prayer goes out to Witney Houston. She started in the Church and is really strugling with the world at this time. She needs to return to her first love.

Wow... Old Joe. I haven't heard anything by him in years. Guess I'll run down to the bookstore and see what I can find.

I'll agree with Mike: all of them. But some powerhouses I'd love to pray for and meet in heaven (after the first 10,000,000,000 years or so) would be Vince Gill, Whitney Houston, all the guys from Metallica and the Beach Boys and Allison Krauss and Union Station (don't know if they are or not). Michael Kamen and Ray Charles died a few years back but I'd love to see them there.

Marilyn Manson. What a testimony it would be to hear that the Holy Spirit shattered his evil, vile heart of stone!

    Elvis

I heard Dr. Jack Hyles once talk about meeting Elvis on an elevator in the 50s. Back then, if you wanted your song played on a radio, you sometimes had to take the record to the DJs. On the elevator, Dr. Hyles witnessed to Elvis and Elvis told him he was saved when he was a child.

I think when we are in Heaven, though, we will be too busy wishing we had more crowns to throw at Jesus' feet...

Ron Block is a pretty outspoken Christian. If you go to http://www.ronblock.com/ he talks quite a bit about his faith, although it concerns me a little that he praises the New Age propaganda piece, "What the Bleep Do We Know".

I think we all know Johnny Cash's story with Christ, and I know that a lot of us know that Alice Cooper is now a Christian, but Buffett's another story.

He's kind of a funny guy because, once you get him away from Jimmy Buffett, the character he plays on stage and start talking to Jimmy Buffett, the person, he's actually a pretty deep guy.

A lot of people don't realize that his plane crash in Long Island sound was much more serious than the news media reported. The plane flipped over and sank and he and his assistant, Mike Ramos, were trapped and very nearly drowned.

People say, "well, he's OK now so it couldn't have been that bad", but, no, he came very close to meeting his maker.

Anyway, I've heard him say many times that that incident made him a lot more reflective on spiritual things and his standing with God.

Obviously, God used that incident to plant some sort of seed.
