What self-publishing companies would anyone recommend?

    A few years back I was checking out author's house because I wanted to do a children's book. I lost focus from my goal of writing a book. Now I want to have a book published but it is a different kind (book of prayers). The people I talked with at author's house are no longer there and I am not feeling the people I am currenty talking too. I then filled out info and sent a manuscript to Publish America. I did the previous before I found out so many negative reviews about this company. Thank God I haven't signed anything. So are than any publishing companies that you guys would suggest I research and take a look at? Has any with Xulon Press?

    Here's My Thought

    While I used WinePress/PleasantWord, I have since found out about a secular company that has name recognition, and they don't charge an arm and a leg. Look into Lulu.com. If they don't meet you needs, or if you don't feel comfortable with them, than try my publisher [named above].

    I think you'll find the lulu.com gives you things that others don't, and it's costs are next to nothing. God Bless in your endeavor to write for the Kingdom.

    To Pastor Paul & Baptist Board friends:

    I did in fact go with lulu and I am happy to say that I am now a published author. If this book does not sell 1 single copy, I am happy that the Lord allowed me to accomplish this goal. To God be the glory. My book is called Spiritual Apples for Teachers (a collection of prayers for every classroom situation that a teacher may face).     For future reference, Amazon.com does self/on demand publishing free to the author.
