What Trump said about Fla

I have said before his attacks on DeSantis are hurting him. First, it isn’t true. Second, the people of Florida just re-elected DeSantis in a landslide victory. Is DT calling Floridians stupid? Why alienate Florida? DT has no chance of winning Florida in the primary if DeSantis runs.

I have already stated I won’t vote for DT in the primary. So, it really doesn’t change my opinion, but it is a mistake for him to make these attacks. He should be able t distinguish himself without it.

peace to you

It doesn't change it, because Trump being a loud-mouthed pugnacious kind of leader is already taken into my measure of him. His personality has both negatives and positives. That instance is clearly a negative for Trump.

Trump is like chemotherapy for a nation with stage iv cancer. Chemotherapy is not fun, it damages the body, it's unpleasant, but it helps to remove the cancer and is necessary.

I liked how Trump pointed out the corruption in DC (at the same time, we all knew it was there).

With this upcoming election Trump is the cancer to the GOP. I'm pretty sure that should Trump not be the GOP candidate he would rather see a DNC POTUS as it would validate his ego (he would see a GOP loss as due to his losing the Primary). So he can be the bull in the china shop now because it can only serve his interests.

My opinion of Donald Trump can't get any lower than it is and has been.

It is and has been at rock bottom. He's pathetic.

I voted for him the first time, cringing all the way, because I would have voted for a rabid baboon to keep Hilary from winning. Not because she was a woman, but because she is an evil person married to an evil person.

I voted for Trump the second time, sick and crying all the way, because those I tried to talk to about this and get counsel from just rebuked me and made me feel like a horrible person for not "towing the party line".

I just don't wrap my Christian faith up in the American flag. I don't believe that being a Republican mean I'm going to heaven.

Yes, it can.

On the other hand cancer is a surety of death. That is what we're dealing with nowadays with Liberals.

As far as human-being goes he is as sinful as any other unsaved person. I'm not convinced he is born-again by any means. The fruit, other than his appointment of anti-abortion judges, doesn't point to him being born-again.

I voted for him the first time, cringing all the way, because I would have voted for a rabid baboon to keep Hilary from winning. Not because she was a woman, but because she is an evil person married to an evil person.
I wanted Carson in the primary, after he was gone then I wanted Cruz, then I was stuck with Trump and was pleasantly surprised that he actually kept his word on campaign promises.

I voted for Trump the second time, sick and crying all the way, because those I tried to talk to about this and get counsel from just rebuked me and made me feel like a horrible person for not "towing the party line".
After his showing in the Presidency I was entirely content with voting for him a second time, as I've said before my opinion after his time in office was that he was the best President of my lifetime, which begins around Bill Clinton's time.

I just don't wrap my Christian faith up in the American flag. I don't believe that being a Republican mean I'm going to heaven.
Because of my Christian faith I can't help but want America to return to what it was prior to the sexual revolution, I.E a Christian country.

I would agree that being a Republican doesn't mean you're going to heaven. Especially as that would be problematic as I'm not a Republican and never have been one except for 1 year around 2012 ;). I'm a "Christian Democrat" in the European sense. Socially ultra-conservative and economically progressive/moderate.

I'm a "Christian Democrat" in the European sense. Socially ultra-conservative and economically progressive/moderate.

I turned 18 in September of 1979 - the year that Reagan won in November. My dad took me to the courthouse to register to vote.

On the way there, I asked him what was the difference between Democrats and Republicans. He told me the simple version - that Democrats liked to solve problems with money and that Republicans liked to solve problems with answers.

I said, "OK, I'm going to be a Republican."

Inside, my dad allowed me to do all the talking to the registrar. The man looked at my dad and said, "Is she sure she wants to be a Republican?" The South has a long line of registered Democrats who vote Repubican.

My dad said, "Put down whatever she says."

On the way home, I said to my dad, "Hey, Daddy! Now I'm a Republican - just like you!" I was so proud.

He said, "What? I'm not a Republican. I'm an Independent."

I said, "Why didn't you tell me what THAT meant?"

He said, "You didn't ask." My dad never babied me and encouraged my own understanding by learning.

I've wanted to change my status to Independent since 2020. I may yet.

I'm not saying I would never vote for Trump. It has just pained me so much in the past.

Why DON'T the Republicans have anyone else?

A good reason to stay Republican is so you can vote in the Primary.
unless your State or Commonwealth has open primaries.

Here in NY - we have closed primaries - I am not a Republican - but at our last state convention, I did vote for our party to endorse Trump. (2020)

That’s a very good question.

But understand that they don’t hate Trump because he says some outlandish things, but because he had the audacity to expose the swamp. Who else will have the guts to be gutted like Trump?

The Republicans don’t really have Trump so much as Trump has the Republicans.

What I liked about Trump is he was not a politician (I know, any businessman at Trumps level is a type of politician by necessity, but I mean like a DC politician). That can't be said anymore. His treatment of DeSantis (and even Kemp) proves that. The difference is Trump has his own interests at heart rather than investing those interests in a political party.

Actually he was like that during the 2016 debates - but that's Trump - not condoning his actions -its just giving the facts.
Trump is a CEO and can run his business any way he want - but that does not work as the POTUS.

OTOH, there is NOTHING about democrats I can approve of.

I don’t even have to know who the Republican candidate is. I will just pull the “R” lever, straight ticket. I cannot stand what democrats have become. I call them “demonrats”.

Never understood people voting for personality, policies are the major concern for me.

The other reason to vote Trump is that the most nefarious evil satanic elite people on earth hate his guts.

Trump might just be the right ugly brick to throw through the elites window.

Suppose DT wins POTUS…. And…. MaCarthy is still speaker…, would MacConnel still lead the Senste Repubs. I think he is about 187 years old and recently fell, hit his head and was out of DC for several weeks.

Plus, he and DT have had strong words toward each other since 2000.

Who would lead Repubs in Senste After McConnell?

peace to you

Disappointing.

They should be working together.

DeSantis has his own ambitions but I don’t think he has the legs for a presidential bid.
I think he could wedge a split in the Republican vote and the Democrats will win in 2024.

The elites aren’t afraid of DeSantis, they are afraid of Trump.

Don’t judge a man purely by his friends, look at the quality of his enemies.
