NIV Student Bible...I was probably 12 or 13 when I got it. It isn't even close though to modern study Bibles.

First one is the same one I use now. I haven't seen a more comprehensive, detailed study Bible yet. Nelson's KJV Study Bible. Going on 30 years old. Duct taped, written in , highlighted, and still the one I use. My children have purchased me Bibles for gifts at different times, and I've tried to use them, but just go back to my old favorite. It's just so familiar, I have many notes written in it, and I can find things quickly. Just like an old friend.

Nelson's KJV Study Bible

Though technically not a 'study Bible', Nelson's ASV Wide Margin Bible was my first study Bible. As you say, "Duct taped, written in , highlighted, [and rebound] and still the one I use".

I don't recall any adults using study bibles while growing up Mennonite.

I never felt the need to fall into any religious traps, not after livin my life as a Roman Catholic for petes sake. Livin as a RC is religious servitude and I will never do that again. Thank The Father for the freedom of Radical Faith and Grace.

In Alpha NJ we have a Mennonite church with a homosexual pastor... didn’t go over big with other Mennonite churches in PA. Don’t know what finally happened... need to investigate.
