Had Christ not come already and we were between the old and new testaments, what do you think Christianity would be today in 2015?
Welcome FarWalker,
20 posts in 15 years - ya gotta get out more.
Simply a type of Judiasm and various forms of paganism.
Christ arrived at a very opportune time... almost like it was planned.
Rob
That sounds pretty close to what we've no got here in the US today.
Maybe Christ's second arrival for us isn't that far away after all.

I think the misconception is the thought that America has always been a Christian Country with a majority of Christians dwelling in her. That would not coincide with the many/few teachings of Scripture, thus is suspect as to being a reality.
What is more likely is that, just like it is today, there was the few among the many, and while we see what seems an accelerated phase in the downward spiral mankind has been in since the Curse began, I think it better if we recognize the truth that Christ is still building His Church, and we do well not to minimize the fact that there are still a lot of decent, God-fearing people in this land.
The liberal agendas and their adherents are a minority. The fact that they have gained such ground is not an indication that there are less people in the Body of Christ today in America, but that the Tares have, ahem...come out of the closet, lol.
Rather than the outbreak of damnable doctrines being generally accepted by more people today being an indication of the Lord's possibly soon coming, I see events in the world as a whole being more indicative. Prophesied enemies of Israel are in place with the enmity spoken of, for example.
Sorry, but I see the tendency to cast America in a light that parallels the view of radical Islamists is a little offensive. There are still a lot of God-fearing people in this country, and it is up to us to witness and disciple them.
Right?
God bless.

Historically, though America has always been overrun with heathens, the establishment of law and order was based upon the Judaeo / Christian principles. Hence, the posting of the ten commandments, bible reading, bible courses, and prayers in the classrooms and all public school activities until the 1960s.
The claim that America was or is not a "Christian nation" is correct. Never has been from the war of independence much less during the Civil War.

"A lot" did not stem the judgment of God upon Israel,
nor will it keep the justice of God from impacting America.

Are you seriously contending that "liberal agendas and adherents are a minority?"
imo,
that is a completely futile attempt at wearing pink tinted glasses.

I agree.
Both the heretical types and the world events point to the soon coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to catch out the believers.

There is little doubt that the same enemy that rules the heart of the Islamists is ruling the hearts of most of the USA leadership
and the majority of the populace of the USA.
