"When Christ Died, He Died For Me"

1. O Lord before Thy throne I fall,
And for Thy grace and mercy call;
Forgive my sin and save my soul,
Come cleanse me now and make me whole.

2. But how can God my sin forgive,
That He should let this sinner live?
His justice cries out for my death,
And would be right to take my breath.

3. Observe a wise and gracious plan,
To save this vile and wretched man;
The Father chose me for His Own,
And Jesus came sin to atone.

4. Behold the sacrificial Lamb,
Redeemed by His Own blood I am;
And since Christ died upon the tree,
God can in justice pardon me.

5. Who can a charge against me lay,
Christ Jesus washed my sins away?
This is my confidence and plea,
That when Christ died He died for me.
