When Does Our "Distinctives" Adding To Gospel make It "Another/Flase Gospel?"

When though do we add enough "peculiar/desitinctive" practices to make a false Gospel/False Church?

Some say must be water baptised to be saved, others add a certain way /method only...

Some say salavtion in their church alone, true church...

Some hold must speak in tongues to be saved, others say must be either free will or a calvinist to hold to true Gospel..

What are allowable wrong intrepretations, and others make such a group false teaching, or even false church/gospel?

When someone who fallibly interprets scripture differently from you with such conviction that they must necessarily accuse you of preaching "another" gospel, lest they be forced to consider the possibility of their own error. It is a psychosis not uncommon in the general population. Well… it happens all the time around here anyway.

The New Testament refers to something called "the faith" (1 Tim. 4:1; Jude 3; etc.) and synonyms ("the doctrine" - Rom. 16:17 or "the tradition" 2 Thes. 3:6) that was handed down to the Apostles from Christ who in turn handed them down to the churches (thus called "the tradition").

The Faith consists of those essentials of salvation and service. The essentials of salvation constitute those doctrines essential to the true gospel. The essentials of service constitute those doctrines essential to be a true congregation of Christ.

These essentials are identifiable by three definitive earmarks:

1. They are those things the New Testament explicitly demand to be essential or give no other alternative. (e.g. "ye must be born again", "except ye repent ye shall all likewise perish" etc.).

2. They are those things that are essential to distinguish New Testament Christianity from other world religions and from predicted apostacy and clearly stated apostate doctrine.

3. They are those things that are essential to perserve the above two distinctions until Jesus returns. (e.g. inspiration and preservation of the scriptures, the great commission essentials, the congregation of Christ as the pillar and ground of the truth).
