Mass - I'll be honest, I was absolutely surprised at the results thus far. I hope that this is not representative of the BB thus far.

    Dead serious on this. [IMG]

Sincere prayer question...sincere in what way? I voted true but could see also voting false to the same question. I think the 50/50 results at this time bear this out.

I only posted once Bob - I promise!

30 folks strikes me as a pretty good sampling. How many different users post here in a given day?

that question should of been explained better. it is one of those questions that one would have to understand how i would present it. in short it means a person can pray but unless they are trusting in the end the Lords sacrafice as payment for their own sin, then all the prayer in the world would do no good. hope this helps.

    edited for spelling corrections

I did take the poll, but I thought a few of the questions could have been more indepth. Maybe I read too deep. I actually changed my mind a couple of time as to what a few of them were really saying.
I would get more detailed but I can't remember exactly how they're worded, and it does not let you in again after you vote.

Massdak, roughly a third of a Board dominated by people beyond the right wing of fundamentalism think that "liberals" should resign. That's hardly surprising. :D

    Joshua

P.S. As always, I decline your call. :D

Joshua, I do think some of your beliefs are quite different than any Baptist I've ever known, but you make me smile most of the time when I read your postings. Sometimes I have to wonder if you post certain things just to get a reaction. [IMG]

    Christine,

Quite frankly, I could live without most of the reactions I get here. I post for three reasons:

    - to provide fundamentalists with a more informed perspective of what liberal baptists believe

    - to seriously discuss an issue

    - so that lurkers will know that fundamentalists aren't the only kind of baptists

    Joshua

P.S. mass - you're right, that should have been "2/3". Regardless, the opinions of fundamentalists on the validity of my ministry aren't very high on my list of concerns.

hmmm, I thought you didn't like generalizations? ;) (retorical) Well, anyway, I'm an I.F.B. and I voted "no"...so there goes that theory of who voted "yes" right out of the proverbial water. But then I always have been the exception to every rule...yea that's right, I said every. [IMG]

And Massdak... I voted in your favor on the last question. ;)

Rev Joshua, I appreciate your keeping us
    informed. [IMG]

Christine, I have always thought that I was a Baptist. I am still a Baptist, but since coming to this board my husband has had to explain to me the following:

Fundamentalism; Calvinism; Arminianism; King James Onlyist; Oneness; legalism; liberal; conservative; centrist; [IMG]

Sure I knew what the words meant but I didn't know that I had to use them to define what I believe. ( Actually, I don't)

One of my strongest gifts of the Holy Spirit is Faith (yes I do believe in gifts of the spirit and that is an entirely different thread)

    God loves all people. [IMG]

I'm still confused on all these different types of Baptist's. Thank you for the support, Thankful.

Joshua, If I offended you, I'm sorry. I like reading your posts. I do like to banter, but I realize that some people take things more seriously. Yes, there are somethings that I am dead serious about, so I understand how you feel.
