As a veteran, I would not take my stand with these veterans as reported in this article. I wonder if any of these so-called veterans have been vetted?

Protecting protesters is one thing. Protecting thugs destroying pubic/private property makes you a thug!

It appears God has chosen to take His Holy Spirit "out of the way", at least to some degree, allowing Satan to unleash more of his evil influence on the world through the actions of his children.

According to Andy Ngo who has done stories on ANTIFA and has been attacked by them the "veterans" are ANTIFA people masquerading as them. It is the same with the "Moms", they are the same ANTIFA people he has seen before, all dressed up in black.

I disagree with deploying federal troops except to protect federal property unless help is sought by the state.

The reason is I feel that stupid people who elect stupid city and state politicians need to pay the stupid tax or they will keep on doing the same thing.

The "state" or in this case the City of Portland refuses to allow it's police department to protect the Federal buildings, so now the Federal Government needs to do the job themselves. If they hadn't, we would now have a couple of completely destroyed Federal buildings in that city.

The reason is I feel that stupid people who elect stupid city and state politicians need to pay the stupid tax or they will keep on doing the same thing.

In a decent world I would agree, but in this world the city officials have now gone beyond stupid. They are aiding and abetting the lawlessness and they are failing in their legal duty to protect other citizens and their properties, thus the Federal government has to intervene to keep some semblance of law and order. The Mayor of Portland was told to resign and attempts were made to attack him, did he change his tune? No! He continues on with supporting the violence and being against the Federal police being there. He is stuck on stupid.

The reason is that the people elect their leaders. If the federal government does not allow the state and city elected officials to govern in this case I do not see what is to stop then down the line under a different administration and circumstance.

I think it is a dangerous path given the current make up of our nation.

It is sad, but Federalism has been on the way out for many years now. The Founding Fathers would not recognize the place anymore.

It's highly likely many of them, if not most were not veterans.
