Has Ron Paul itemized exactly where in the federal budget he would cut $1 trillion from in his first year in office?

Sorry, but both of you are wrong. Paul does not want to cut Defense spending. He wants to cut Military spending. He makes a very clear distinction between the two.
He will cut 20% from the over-all Defense budget by closing foreign bases and bringing the troops home. He will cut spending such as the recent money spent on the US Embassy in Iraq ($750,000,000!). By doing so he will increase our national security by having more troops here at home and spending the money that was formerly spent overseas right here in the US.

Can you explain how U.S. security would be increased by bringing the troops home? I thought it was illegal to deploy the military amongst the general public within U.S. borders.
You are thinking about the Posse Act
OK. So let's say President Ron Paul brings the troops home. They are now stationed at military bases across the U.S.A. Exactly how is this going to increase U.S. security?
Yes it was. You should know better. The Department of Defense building a $750,000,000 embassy in Iraq has nothing at all to do with the military. How silly of me to think that Defense and Military are the same thing :tonofbricks:
Using US troops to secure the borders would greatly increase our national security. Using US troops to secure ports of entry would greatly increase our national security (and do away with the TSA which, in itself, would increase national security!).OK.
