My brother who is a car mechanic told me that you can buy one Toyota or two Fords or Chevrolets.

My Camry has 170,000 and has never failed yet. All I have ever done is to change the fluids, timing belt, adjusted the valves, starter contacts, CV joint boots, batteries and tires. I have a Tundra and have never replaced anything except the fluids and tires.

I can coutner that. My Ford Contour has 130K miles on it and hasn't needed anything aside from normal maintenance. Then again, I'm religious about maintenance. Many people wait until the "oil" light starts buzzing.

    Make mine a Ford.

I drive an Escort, the missus has her Expedition, and our daughter drives a Taurus.

Nissan for me. Any Nissan. When I was in the Philippines, it beat just about any car in terms of cooling system.
Second, Toyota. It's made to last forever.

Pontiac for me! It's a family thing. My grandparents have a '73 Firebird, my mom has a Grand Am, and I have a Sunfire (purple of course)!

Honestly-whatever runs well, doesn't look too shabby, and is a reasonable price, etc. In short, something that is practical. Although I do like the idea of the superior safety of SUVs (minus the ones with rollover issues). I would prefer a car that is not really small as it is most endangered in an accident. A Ford Tempo type of car is probably my choice, but I picked other in the poll due to my current needs of practicality. Ford Tempo is a practicality choice too [IMG]
