Which groups do you like?

I agree with Debbie, The Newsboys were conspicuously absent, at least among groups lucky enough to be considered their peers.

I had to be cautious and use all my musical selection criteria. I really like 4him's sound, but am not excited about their third wave theology thinking we are living in Joel's great awakening. There songs are permeated with it.

 

Where are the really good groups (IMHO) like...

The Easters; McKameys; Gold City, Signature Sound... etc

Seems like you have limited your selection to just a certain type of music...

Don't forget Southern Gospel...

In this genre, I like Twila Paris and Steve Green.
Listen to most of them on K-Love. Guess I will pay more attention to who's singing what!

I have to be honest with you, I listen to virtually no Christian music.

Randy Stonehill and that's about it. There was also a band called Screen Door that was interesting and another band called The Electrics, who were kind of a Pogues knockoff.

It's not that I wouldn't like to listen to more Christian music, it's just that I'm a thirty five year old, college educated, white male. They simply don't make Christian music for people in my demographic.

I've never heard Grit's Saggywoman. Are they good? What do they sing I might have heard?

 

Well I really dislike RAP except for Jesus Loves Me done by CeCe Winans' son on a Brentwood Kids or Cedarmont kids tape. It's excellent. The children in the background sing the song the usual way and then her little boy raps it.

I'm surprised more didn't vote for Chris Rice. If you haven't listened give him a shot. His music has fun lyrics as well as moving lyrics and is soft in sound. Should appeal to all age groups.

 

Christian Rap = Oxymoron

 

I only recognized 12 of these groups and I could not vote for any of them.
