Which web browser do you use and why?

Hello all,

I was wondering what web browsers you all use and why you like it?

On PCs I always use IE and I thought that IE 7 was a big imporvement over previous versions. Now that I use a Mac I have just been using Safari but have thought about trying Firefox since I hear some many raves about it, even from other Mac users who prefer it to Safari.

I use FireFox primarily and IE6, IE7, and Opera only for testing purposes.

On my iBook and my iMac I use Camino as primary browser. I have Safari and Firefox installed but prefer the Camino, it is better looking, smother and faster and has the same "engine" as Fireox. I have toyed with Shiira bu do not use it much, but the next version may very well be very good.

I use multiple browsers but mostly Safari, which is what i am using now.
Second most I use Firefox for the occasional web application that does not work in Safari.
I have tried Camino as well and it is a great browser.
Almost as compatible as Firefox is with web apps and almost as easy to use as safari.
The problem for me with Camino is that I still have to use two browsers for all that I do, even with it so I stick to Safari/Firefox.

Firefox. Period. Even for my updates as I have the IE Tab extension installed.

With all the customization possibilities available for Firefox, why would anyone use anything else?

It sounds as if you would recommend Firefox over Camino, is that correct? I have been trying Camino out and it seems great so far. It does seem a bit faster than Safari, but I like Safari's interface and ease of use. The RSS feed system is nice s well. Boy I love my new Mac!

Yeah...I'm an experimental kind of guy...long as they work with older systems & don't eat up much resources!!!

Uhh..are these other browser for use with iMac only???

Firefox will run on Windows are Mac OS X. Camino and Safari are exclusivly for OS X so they won't work on your PC. I know a lot of Windows users that like Firefox. Maybe you sould try it.

I use both Safari and Firefox. Safari is much faster than Firefox on my Mac, but Firefox has more offerings so I use it too.

Firefox. I noticed no one even mentioned Opera. Not my personal choice, but for those of you looking at browsers, its worth a try.

Opera is a good browser. I use Opera and Firefox at home, but IE is mandated at work.

I've used FireFox....& really liked it. But it uses a lot of power on my old machine. Even with out a lot of the extras....it still pulled away a lot of ram. But it was faster most definitly. If I could find an old 750Mghz Pentium II I'd slap it in & try it again.

I have been using firefox since before it was called firefox (used to be firebird). It is so customizable and well planned that IE always seems to be playing catch up. Since I don't have a MAC, I can't speak for the OS X browsers, but I use firefox on both my Windows and Linux machines.

Apple running Windows

Do any of you Apple users use Bootcamp so you can run Windows programs on your Macs? If so how much of a slowdown do you notice in running the program? I am waiting until Apple has support for HD on their systems. HD Drives and a HDMI connector in the rear of the computer. Hope it is soon

IE7 - why do I need anything else?

Sure, Firefox is anti-establishment (probably has communist links...) and probably appeals to many that way. :thumbs:

And maybe it does have 15 million add-ons and stuff, but IE7 does all I need and more.

IE7 is quick, simple and effective!

Just upgraded to IE7. I have used firefox but have had problems with it lately. I downloaded the opera 9.1 browser to try, so I can see what I like best.
