    As a Met fan I despised his Cardinal teams of the 80's, but the man could manage, and IMO deserves it. Good for him.

    Yes, I guess. I haven't really thought about Hall standards for managers.

    Martin has (IMHO) better credentials and isn't in. Like Andy, I think the standards for mgr are not quite as codified. If one WS and a couple of pennants get you in, it should be interesting who else should get in.

    It will be interesting as well to see the owner/pioneer selections. Some feel Howsam is a lock since the Big Red Machine nucleus (Sans Pete) is in, so its architect will be also. I don't agree it's a lock.
