John 3:16 is clear, everyone believing into Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

But who decides who believes, the person making the profession, or God. John 6:64 says God knows who believes. Would God save those He knows do not believe according to His discernment?

The simple answer is God decides who believes in Christ, who has faith in the truth, and transfers those individuals spiritually into Christ's spiritual body.

This is not complicated, argumentative or new. This is the gospel, pure and simple.

    Biblical truth matters.

Matthew 7:21-23 teaches it is God who decides who actually believes.

Romans 9:16 teaches the one who wills or does things (professes faith) is not the one upon whom salvation depends.

John 6:64 teaches that God knows who really believes.

The simple answer is God decides who believes in Christ, who has faith in the truth, and transfers those individuals spiritually into Christ's spiritual body.

Salvation is a gift from God, and this salvation is not of ourselves. Ephesians 2:8-9

Doing the will of God is what it actually teaches per Matthew 7:21, . . . he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

" Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of [his] good pleasure. "

    I agree with this.

    People make things so complicated.

Our Father tells us that all who believe will be saved. And like little stubborn children the first thing we ask is "why".

As always we return to the actual issue, is God's will to allow the lost to choose to seek God and put their trust in Christ. Some say no, others believe it, but hide the view in ambiguity. I, of course say, yes, it is God's sovereign will to allow the lost to seek God and put their trust in Christ. Everyone believing in Him, as discerned by God, will not perish but have everlasting life.

This is the gospel I believe is taught throughout scripture.
