Whose Spirit?

In Matthew 4:1, scripture says Jesus was "led higher" under the influence of the "Spirit" into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

My wonderful NASB version puts a capital on "Spirit" indicating the spirit was divine, the Father or Son or Holy Spirit.

The event took place "immediately" after Jesus was baptized in the Jordan, and the Holy Spirit came upon Him. (Mark 1:9-12)

Some people believe when the Spirit (Holy Spirit) came upon Him, that constituted His "anointing" with the Spirit and Power, Acts 10:38.

So the question is: Was Jesus led into the wilderness, by the Spirit of the Father, His own Second Person of the Trinity Spirit, or the Third Person Holy Spirit?

My answer is the Holy Spirit. He had the anointing and He was led, and the core of the temptation is Jesus did not utilize His anointed power for His own benefit, but only for the Father's purpose.

In Luke 4:1 Jesus was led by the Spirit, of which He was full.

My wonderful KJV also capitalizes Spirit, and I agree He was led by the Holy Spirit.

In 3:16-17 we have Christ being baptized, The Holy Spirit descending, and the Father speaking.

The Trinity!

Yes, Matthew 3:16-17 provides strong evidence of the Trinity, as all three Persons are shown as separate entities being present at the same time.

The voice of the Father, the likeness of the Holy Spirit, and, of course, the soaking wet Jesus!
