What Church do you go to Eladar? I have trouble figuring out what you believe.Originally posted by Eladar:
It depends. Some times I post to point out different points of view and why I disagree with what someone writes. Some times I post to work out an idea that just hit me. Some times I post to rebuke out and out herecy.
This could be said for anyone who posts here. And a lot of free time.
That's OK, the spirit within you will lead you to the truth that it wants you to find.BTW, I still haven't figured out this three person Trinity belief.
From what I can tell, you've got problems you need to work out which can't be done on the internet.I am sorry! None of the answers worked for me!

And you were a confirmed Lutheran! But I know what you mean. I once opined that Baptists were Nestorian herectics. Three Baptists quickly rebuked me. This forum affords an opportunity to correct honest misunderstandings.Originally posted by GraceSaves:
I was just curious to learn if there are differing motives for why we post on this board. I would greatly appreciate it if you would expound a little after voting!
As for myself, I honestly post here to share my faith with others so that they can gain a better understanding of it. This is my primary purpose. My goal is not to convert, but to inform, although every once in a while I do seek to understand concepts from the other faiths present, which greatly helps me, because I can't stand knowing that I've been "preaching" something that is false (i.e., I used to believe that Lutherans teach and believe in consubstantiation, but I now know this to be false).

I'm pretty sure (though not positive) that consubstantiation was never used in my instruction, but from what I was taught, it seemed to fit very nicely. The difference in definitions is EXTREMELY minor, even if the implication is greatly different. You must admit this; its why people confuse it so much.Originally posted by John Gilmore:
