I just got this in an email.

I watched it and thought.... Where are the Baptists????

Why isn't the SB Convention putting their money where their mouth is?

I know the video is from the anti-Christ, but what this thread desires to discover is why is it what affiliated assemblies such as the SBC not flooding the media outlets, too?

Does anyone not realize that the media messages of the Mormons and Catholics are meant to tease the unregenerate into accepting them and therefore approval of them and their truth?

That such acceptance is a precursor acceptance into the one world anti-Christ system of thinking?

Why aren't Baptists doing battle with the message of the real truth?

Here is the video link.

Well first of all the RCC isn't the anti-Christ.

Secondly, I've seen plenty of videos about stuff like this. Just because you haven't seen them doesn't mean they aren't out there. I would encourage you to not worry so much about groups like the SBC and start talking about what you're doing to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. :)

There are plenty of good things going on within Baptist circles, including the SBC. There is a lot of media out there and a lot of it is hard to sort sometimes. I'm also not sure these videos are the best thing. Anyways, there are plenty of things out there. A lot of us, however, don't necessarily agree that they are the best way to proceed.

Consider the scope and effectiveness of this video, and others like it...and then consider the scope and effectiveness of films like "Fly-wheel" "Facing the Giants" "Fireproof" and "Courageous"

Main article: Sherwood Pictures
Sherwood Baptist Church runs and owns Sherwood Pictures, a film-production company which has produced Flywheel (2003), Facing the Giants (2006), Fireproof (2008), and Courageous (2011).[3] It was started in 2002 by Alex Kendrick with $20,000 in donations.[4] On September 30 Sherwood Pictures released their newest film Courageous.

This one church....(an S.B.C. affiliated one) is nominally responsible for the success of all of those films.....1 local body....I imagine if the SBC decided to try to compete with something like this....they would only screw it up. God has ordained the local body to accomplish his work...and it appears to me, that on this particular battleground...the local assembly is accomplishing all of that and gaining obvious victory with it !!!. :godisgood::jesus:How many millions have heard a clear-cut presentation of the gospel from Caleb's father in "Fireproof" because of the work of this local body?

You error, as Catholics are not the anti-Christ nor is the RCC. As to why the SBC does not go openly political I think it would be permissible if they did it in the name of the Lord and not the name of the SBC. In other words never mention the SBC in the add.
In my opinion that was the flaw of that add as it makes it seem like they alone, the Catholics stand for life, freedom, and marriage not any one else. So like I said if the SBC made a similar add and it was in the name of the Lord which covers all Christians and not the SBC I think it would be good.

Well, the Convention once had an extensive media ministry, the 'Radio and Television Commission' which produced things like the 'Jot' cartoon. Also the 'ACTS Network' and 'FamilyNet'. Several years ago the denomination shuttered the operation and sold off its assets. The old ACTS Network is now the Hallmark Channel, and FamilyNet ended up under the control of the Rev. Robert A. Schuller.

Roman catholic church preaches false Gospel, and has the spirit of antichrist behind their doctrinal stances....

people saved out from that group is due to grace of God, in spite of their bad theology!

If we just want to focus on commercials I know some local ministries that make commercials. Some also have billboards. I find them all tacky.

The Gospel does not meed marketing gimmicks. The Word of God itself is powerful and the Holy Spirit is still at work revealing the truth to people.

You are right..they are the whore spoken of in Revelation.
We have many differences with Catholics. We also have common ideals such as the right to life. Catholics believe Jesus Christ is Savior, and is God. Lets face it, many on the rolls of local Baptist Churches are headed straight to hell. There are also members of the Catholic church that are saved despite their church doctrine.

Mormons are a totally different story. They do not believe Jesus Christ is God, and therefore not Christian. It is totally wrong to lump the two together.

All denominations have problems. However, the SBC is where the Lord wants me to serve, so that is where I serve. He is doing many great things through it. Telling the Good News to others is our number one reason for being here.

Instead of seperating Christians into little specialized factions, how about working together on areas we agree with to serve our Lord.
