Why is Rick Santorum Obsessed with Sex?

Some rather curious quotes by Rick Santorum:

“Woodstock is the great American orgy. This is who the Democratic Party has become. They have become the party of Woodstock. They prey upon our most basic primal lusts, and that’s sex.”

"It comes down to freedom, and it comes down to sex. If you have anything to do with any of the sexual issues, and if you are on the wrong side of being able to do all of the sexual freedoms you want, you are a bad guy. And you’re dangerous because you are going to limit my freedom in an area that’s the most central to me. And that’s the way it’s looked at.”

“What changed was the ’60s. What changed was sex.”

The most telling quote:

"It comes down to sex. That’s what it’s all about."

I'm sure it does for Mr. Santorum. What he's doing is a prime case of projection. He's obsessed with sex so he projects his obsession on to the Left. Republicans do this all the time.

Actually he is concerned (not obsessed) with morality.

He must use the term sex - so that Liberals will understand.

He hit the nail on the head.

Our nation started a long slide down garbage hill in the 60's with "free love" - which really means sexual promiscuity - shacking up - artificial contraception to avoid the natural consequences of the act - abortion - social acceptance of the "gay" sin...

And soon to come - murdering the recent born.

I really do not see the purpose of running down the only decent Republican running who has a chance of winning. I could start a thread asking why Romney was obsessed with abortion and gay rights until he ran for President.

The reason is Mr. Santorum is always talking about sex and contraception. I find it odd and I thought I'd point it out. I think it says some very interesting things about him. Most people aren't obsessed like him.

Liberals are. Even more so. They have encouraged promiscuity ever since the 60s.

IMO it's because the decline in sexual morals is symptomatic of the decline of our nation.

Abortion, the welfare state, the decline in the traditional family - are all largely the result of the 60's "sexual revolution".

That's simply untrue. Liberals hardly ever talk about sex. It's conservative projection that makes it seem that way. Connies like to use these issues as wedge issues to get people to vote for Republicans. The notion that liberals promote promiscuity is simply absurd and is a dishonest trick by the Right to deflect away from the fact that radical Catholic Rick Santorum is using the contraceptive issue to impose upon us his vision of a Papist America.

In a way you are right. Libs call it free love, just being a guy, growing up, situation ethics, and ect.

Liberals have a problem calling inmorality by its proper terminology of SIN!

That's not true. I'm a SOCIALIST and I have no problem calling sin what it is.

So you would prefer a Mormon who denies Jesus Christ is God and Savior, in addition to being for abortion, gay rights, gun control, and government run health care. Here we have an expert at pandering for votes in exchange for blood of the innocent. So how does that stack up to a Radical Catholic and a Papist America as you put it? Or do you prefer four more years of what we have now? You talk lots but have no solutions.

Two things wrong here. First he is not obsessed. That is your far left spin. You might try to be a bit more honest. Second he is not always talking about sex. Exaggerated statements made to tear someone down only make the person who does it look foolish. Third, you seem to be ignorant of some of the recent issues that have come up in politics. Try informing yourself long before you speak. It will serve you well.

Of course they do. It's a daily drum beat for them.

What do you think that they are talking about when they use words like:

Marriage equality? Gay marriage.
Right to choose? Abortion.
Womens right to health care? Government paid/employer paid contraception.

Those three areas alone make up the bulk of the Democrat platform.
