Why so much against KJB-only?

I am KJB-only. I claim to be a Fundamentalist.
I am wondering why those who are anti-KJB-only and pro-any version care so much about the Bible I use. Someone said on another post something like "No one should compulse everyone to use only one version". No one is. I believe KJB-only, but I do not force you to use my Bible. That's your choice. I like being KJB-only. I have no fear or dread about my Bible. I enjoy reading it, and would not trade it for any new copywrited($$$) [snip]versions. Why is it such a big deal to any-versioners that there are people who will use only one version? Again, in Congress today, they are not debating over when to make the use of the King James Bible compulsory. Why are some so rigidly against the use of one version? (By the way the KJB is not just a version, it is the inspired, inerrant Word of God for the English speaking people. It's God's Word, one shouldn't argue against its use.) Have a nice day.

I haven't seen anyone anywhere on this board who is against your choice to use only the KJV. It is virtually all I use. The "attack" is on those who insist that EVERYONE use their Bible.

The folks on this board only want the same liberty that you request. To choice the version that they wish to use without be accused of being lost, nonspiritual, or worse.

Being a junior member, 'cdg' is not aware that using the term 'perversions' to describe modern versions is against BB rules. Modern versions are anything what this poster asserts.

KJV-onlyism is, according to those like myself, a heterodox teaching that corrupts the historic Christian faith, and does not reflect the biblical doctrines of inspiration, inerrancy, and infallibility. Those of us who expose KJV-onlyism for the errors it adheres to have a problem not with the KJV itself, but by those who promote the false teaching that the KJV is the 'only' Bible for English speaking people. The Word of God is infallible in any English translation that faithfully reflects the text(s) it was translated from (Hebrew, Aramaic, & Greek). It is fine to argue for/against readings in the variants of the copied manuscripts, but to claim that the KJV is 'only' the Bible is complete heresy.

I'm in an argument that Fundamentalist and Legalist

I have three different King James Versions (KJVs) on
my desk: KJV1611 with translator side notes, KJV1769, and KJV1873
with translator footnotes. Which one is the KJB?
This question is directed at Brother Cdg. Some say it doesn't
matter which one i use, they are all the same KJB anyway.

And i'll ask one other question: Who called you here?
This question is for everybody. Did God call you to come

BTW, i was reading the Verstion Forum before the oldest now
recorded outside the archives. I've really not found very many
posters who are AGAINST the KJV. I found nearly everybody is
aginst the KJBO unscriptural, un-Baptist position.

I support KJV 100%, I love to read KJV everyday. But I do not agree with KJVO group who criticize on any different veriosn.

I consider, NIV, RSV, ASV, NKJV, etc. are part of God's Word as KJV does.

I am not attack on KJV. I do not agree with that group who claim KJV is the ONLY ONE perfect English Bible than all Versions.

That is not true.

I am not against you using only the KJV, nor do I dislike the KJV. I use it myself.

The problem is that as soon as one vocally promotes onlyism, as soon as one puts "only KJV" in their church's doctrinal statement, as soon as one calls all other translations derogatory names, you are in effect implying that everyone who disagrees with you is stupid, deceived and/or sinning. When one implies that only the KJV is the word of God, one implies that God was lying for 80% of church history.

And when one makes these claims, which are not only not found in scripture but also extrememly problematic logically and very divisive to the church, it is our responsibility to take a stand against such things.

No one here, or at least few people here have any problem with the KJB. If KVB only means you just think it's the best and use it yourself then no one will have much of a problem with you. If you insist that all other "versions" are "perverted" or "evil" or "satanic" then you'll get a lot of heat here!

By and large, the only people who get reprimanded are those who demonstrate radically unChristlike behavior or hold beliefs beyond extreme. For instance, a couple of former members were asked to leave for being too liberal and persistently questioning biblical authority.

Do you think someone should have the "liberty" to questions someone else's salvation or holiness based on the Bible they use? Do you think someone should have the "liberty" to use contentious, hateful, offensive language to attack the someone else?

I do question the spiritual discernment of KJVO's because they go outside of scripture for a belief that they are militant about. I have used the KJV my whole life. I have nothing against the KJV- it is one of the superior translations. But KJVOnlyism not only divides Christians, it stunts the growth of new believers and in the end does dis-service to the legacy of the KJV itself.

Truly sad, Granny. Cannot let this attack on the BB stand. Expect better of someone whose been around a while.

We do not ridicule, mock (well, a little, but only the extreme), suspend or ban anyone for their KJVonly stand. That is just blatantly false.

If that is the way you feel, please start a thread with such details and open it for discussion. It will NOT be "snipped". I don't want anyone to be fearful of being suspended or banned for posting their belief.

The answer to your questions is quite somple, CDG-KJVO is a non-Scriptural, man-made myth, and every Christian has a D-U-T-Y to fight false doctrines that invade his/her church.

Sad to say, but even though you say it's alright for someone else to use other BVs, you parrot that same ole Onlyist line that was proven wrong before you were born, calling MVs a name not allowed on this board, mentioning the meaningless and ignorant "copyrights" issue.(FYI, the Av 1611 was TAXED by King James, each copy bearing the King's TAX STAMP!) That tells me you're quite uneducated about the versions issue. I suggest you read BOTH sides of the issue instead of believing the word of someone like Dr. Peter Ruckman or Gail Riplinger-or of some unlearned local yokel who tells you he/she has all the answers.

You might begin by reading your KJV to see if there's one blip of its Scripture telling you to use the KJV only. Then, you might see if JESUS HIMSELF limited His word to just the one version by reading what He read aloud in Luke 4:16-21 and comparing it to Isaiah 61:1-3 & Isaiah 42:8.

Obviously, you've got a long way to go in the versions discussion.

I am sorry for breaking any rules by using the word perversion(still believe it though). I will not use it again. Am I a hit-and run ranter? And if so why? I do have alot to learn. But by the grace of God I will not learn enough to choose another version instead of or along with the KJB. I guess they all three are King James Bibles. I would use the latest probably. But do not believe that the others are inferior in text just the spelling is different. Just a version? Sure it would be just a version if it were a version of some other book. Again the word force. Nobody is forcing anyone to use one version. How is my stance legalism? I just use one version and think everyone else should too. I do not force anyone to. I dont think anyone called me here. Now are you saying everyone here is fussing or just those that disagree with you?
I only had a simple question. Why are so many worried about so few. Again no one is forced to use the KJB and no one is forced to go to a church where they use it exclusively. Why the big fuss. All the versions cannot be God's Word. If one version says one thing in one and another version says another thing in it then they both can't be God's Word. I could never use so many versions because I would always wonder which is God's Word? Which one is right? I am not calling anyone stupid no more than you are calling me stupid, sinning, or deceived for not using your version. Wait, you are saying I am sinning, deceived (probably thinking I am stupid) for not agreeing with your view. There is nowhere in Scripture for a bunch of versions either. There must be a foundation for our faith. It must be a Bible. Someone might say " Well, my foundation is my faith in Christ". But you couldn't have that faith without the Bible(Romans 10:17). Since all the versions are different, then I cant stand on all of them. Only one the KJB. I think to say God is lying would be unscriptural. I did not say God didn't preserve His Word through the ages. Just that the modern version are not it. Probably everyone thinks one of the versions is the best. So it is wrong to voice this opinion? I think I am on the right path, but that is probably subject to what version I use. "Right path" may not be in some of them(maybe not in any of them, really dont know). Being ridiculed and mocked will be ok: Hope I wont get banned though. I will try not to break any more rules. Thanks for informing on which ones I break. JKB-only did not invade my church it has always been part of my church. The invading is done around here (where I live) by new versions which always lead to dead liberal churches in my area. Maybe its different where you live. The KJB has been around since 1611(some form or version though not the one I carry today) the new versions are just that. They are the invaders. I do not say it is right for anyone to use another version(if I said that or implied that I am sorry). I said I will not force anyone to use a certain version.

You apprently have read that book too "How to Win Friends and Influence People". You sound like Mr Ruckman yourself. You both seem to have the same spirit. I do not agree with Dr Ruckman myself though. Most people here have said that KJB-only people imply so many bad things about those that disagree, I really dont see much difference with such people(apperently myself) and roby.
Am I militant? I do not know the denotatioon but the connotation seems to imply that I am violent. Implication is a fine thing. With it one may say almost anything with out breaking the rules.

New versions in their mere existence say that the KJB is wrong. Every new version is saying everyone before it is wrong or less in accuracy. If not why have a new version($$$)?
I dont like alot of heat though, that is part of the reason I got saved. (actually the only reason I got saved was He came to me). Well, if I have not answered someone's post or question, I am sorry. Post again and I'll try. There have been plenty of posts and junior member 18yr old's are very imperfect. I may not know the answer though. Well I hope everone is having a nice day.
