Who cares. TV is a box of trash programing any way you look at it.

 

And it's rapidly getting worse. Because of all the profanity, I'm thinking about canceling my Satellite dish service and throwing my TV in the trash. I could pay some bills with the money I'm wasting on all the filth that is on the TV.

I recently lost what I thought was a friend, because I told him not to send me e-mails with profanity in them. He said I was sticking my head in the sand and was putting myself in the place of God because of my dislike for profanity.

In February the USA is going all digital, on a different frequency band. It's to make room for cell phones and wi-fi.

I think the REAL reason is so they can charge us more money for yet another piece of technology. Everybody with an older tv has to get a converter box, and they aren't cheap. There are some coupons available for $40 off, though.

 

Public TV will be great on the new screen. All those great BBC programs that were orginally filmed in high def.

 

I figure they changed so we would need cable or a dish. The reception with digital is pitiful. I lost several channels when I hooked up the digital converter box. The channel that I used to get the best now has problems.

I even lost the best of two PBS channels.

 

Interesting. I didn't know that. It's the same where we are. The outhouses are extremely difficult to get into when you are as tall as dh and me---it's like doing the limbo. HA!

for those in that field, plus makes us who are 'out here in the sticks,' have to either purchase a converter box (hopefully, the cheapest 'out' which we will take, considering we have a perfectly acceptable working TV, which happens to be 'cable compatible' but is not digital compatible), employ some sort of dish technology, or get on cable (none is available where we now live). Or buy a new fangled TV, or do without, which option is a virtual impossibility, considering the love of my bride for football. (The fact that MNF is now only on ESPN already has her wanting to get a dish, as it is.) :laugh:
