What animals do you see where you live? Despite being in a urban/metro area, we see a surprising amount of wildlife -- iguanas, foxes, peacocks, wild rabbits, and parrots & maccaws, to name a few. Of course, you can see plenty of gators if you go to the everglades and some crocodiles in certain areas of the bay.

    What animals do you see?

When I was back in Orlando we had a family of Black bears that would raid neighborhood garbage cans at night. I came across one one night after dark. Standing on all fours he must have been 4 ft tall. I called the fish and game office and they said that we moved into their neighborhood and we needed to find a way to live with them.

In the remote area of NM we have horses running everywhere. I am forever running them out of the church parking lot. They never fail to leave me a few parting gifts. Couple weeks ago we had a Prairie Dog run up to the front door of the church and look in the glass.

Staggering drunks, drug dealers, and those looking to take advantage of both.

Why do you think I got so excited over the BIRD in my yard? LOL It was the only critter I've seen that didn't appear dangerous...although it DID have a pretty sharp beak!

You have a problem with horse poop? I deal with it every day. It's gold! Use it!

I live in surburbia, but there are several critters that I see fairly often. Many kinds of birds including red hawks, barred owls, herons, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and songbirds of all types visit my backyard almost daily. We also have a problem with deer and coyotes (which I hear howl at night, and it's pretty eerie) in the neighborhood. We even had a black bear a couple of years ago come up on my neighbors deck. That was pretty scary! There's also flying squirrels, regular squirrels, chipmunks, coons and possums. I guess that's about it, unless you count the middle school kids. LOL

I forgot about snakes and turtles. We have those, too, as well as frogs and lizards.

A week and a half ago, I had 16 deer preventing me from leaving my car to go to my front door! They were sauntering down the street/neighbors yards for at least 15 minutes. I got LOTS of pictures with my cell phone, too!

I also have seen racoons, squirrels, all kinds of birds, and one "wild" pig. (I think it had escaped from its owners and become wild. Only saw it once.)

I have a pile of limbs in my yard that I was going to get rid of. Whin I realized that there was a rabbit living in it, I decided to leave it there.

Buzzards!!! Okay, vultures for those of you who don't live in the south. We have a flock (clutch?) that moves in and out of our neighborhood regularly.

We also have a beautiful hawk that comes by every now and again.

groundhogs, coons, possums and armadillos all make their way through the neighborhood. The dumb squirrels steal my pecans every year! The chipmunks live up around my neighbors house in spite of her cats, lol, but they stay away from house because of the dogs. My dogs also protect me from the moles. They dug one of those things up last week and tossed it around like a toy.

The deer wander the woods that surround our supposedly city neighborhood.

And I have a pair of doves that nest every year in my big fir tree.

Don't know where to start. It would probably be easier to tell you what we don't have.

We have a lot of deer, rabbits, and foxes around here. In fact I take our dog, Wiley, out every night to chase the deer and our little dog, Gidget, out every morning to chase the rabbits.

Wiley almost got skunked the other night. It was dark, so I couldn't see the skunk, but I could tell from the smell and the way Wiley was jumping around that he had him cornered.

I've heard that black bears and wild boar are moving back into our area, which I'm really happy about, since I like to hunt.

As for alligators, when I lived in Alabama, we had a couple in the lake down the street from us so we always had to be careful.

Heheh, it is indeed gold if you like to garden or grow things. I used to 'build' huge piles of it in layers, soaking it with water as I went, then cover it with plastic and let it go through heat. It is superb fertilizer and soil builder. It's gold!

We live in a rural (some may call it remote) area and my property backs up to 4300 acres of wooded land owned by a power company that abounds with wildlife. I've seen it all except for some very shy black bear that live in there. I keep hearing rumors of cougar in there, but I question that. I've seen the bear sign for myself and many around here have seen them.

We feed the birds through the winter and I derive as much pleasure from that as anything.
