Will God wipe out our memory?

Does this mean we will forget about our lives here on earth once God makes the new heavens and a new earth? Will he wipe out our memory of our former life?

I highly doubt we will lose our memory, because praising God for saving us, and praising Christ for being the slain lamb, would mean that we know we needed saving, and why...and we also remember that Christ was killed...a sad day, but also the victory day...If we are singing to the "lamb that was slain..." we will be singing about murder forever!

I can honestly say that about some things I have in my memory...I sincerely HOPE that God will wipe things clean....and about other things I hope I can always remember. I actually wish that could be true from the day I was saved HERE but I know it is not. I think that while we are here on this earth that God allows us to occasionally remember things from our past to keep us humble and mindful of what He saved us from. I think He also wants us to remember our need of Him and how vital it is that we be dependent on Him in our lives. I believe that our "needs" will be totally different once we adopt our glorified, spiritual bodies in the next realm.

There are lots of things I hope God will cause me to forget. Like the loved ones that were never saved and will spend eternity in hell. Like all the sins I've committed and deeply regret. But I hope to remember my loved ones that are with the Lord because I long to see them again.

for to say that God would erase part of your memory is kind of crazy.

that means that if you cant remember some of your loved ones-then a huge part of your life is erased with them--think about it--doesn't even make sense to say such a thing to happen---God just needs to give folks peace about whats really going to happen to our loved ones :thumbsup::godisgood:

people sometimes say they could not stand living forever with remembering lost family and friends...

I think we will fully have mind of Chrsit, will see all things thru eyes of god, so will know everything tht happened was rightly done!

No. We ourselves will be changed, and our emotional responses to those memories will be necessarily change, but we will remember every micro-second of our earthly existence, and how God was glorified in forgiving our sins. That will be joy unspeakable, and full of glory.

Will it be different for saved and lost people? Matt. 10:28 says the soul and the body will be destroyed in hell.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 " Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going"

Psalm 6:5 " For in death there is no remembrance of you; in Sheol who will give you praise?"

I believe when God wipes away the tears from our eyes and former thing are passed away, there will be no more remembrence of lost loved ones that makes us weep, no sorrow of our many fall's and failures as christians in this world. All thing will be made new, Joy unspeakable, love abounding, and praise forever to him who is worthy. through out eternity.

I don't know if we'll lose our memory of awful things, but I know that He will wipe away every tear and that there'll be no more crying. I think that means that without dwelling on those things that trapped us, we'll be all the more thankful in eternity.
