Will Jesus succeed at uniting all things to himself?

Ephesians 1:9-10
making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

It is God's will that ALL THINGS be united in Jesus and then given over to himself forever. Mainstream Christianity teaches that God doesn't get what God wants and that Jesus FAILS his mission.

I believe otherwise. What do you believe?

Greetings in Christ JESUS our Lord

He said: -> John 14 King James Version

14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in GOD, believe also in Me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you...

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you (Alleluia!!!), I will come again, and receive you unto myself(Alleluia!!!); that where I am, there ye may be also. (Amen. Alleluia!!!)

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:-Matthew 25:34

At midnight(at the turn from the sixth to the seventh and last Day, or seventh and last millennium)->there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him. Matthew 25:6 combined with Matthew 28:18, take a look.

Ephesians 1 - King James Version

3 Blessed be the GOD and Father of our Lord JESUS Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

4 According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love:

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by JESUS Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,

6 To the praise of the Glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved.

7 In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace;

8 Wherein He hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

9 Having made known unto us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He hath purposed in Himself:

10 That in the dispensation of the FULNESS OF TIMES He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in Him:

11 In Whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him Who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will:

12 That we should be to the praise of His Glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the Word of Truth, the gospel of your salvation: in Whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory.

15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord JESUS, and love unto all the saints,

16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

17 That the GOD of our Lord JESUS Christ, the Father of Glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him:

18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

19 And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power,

20 Which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places,

21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, NOT ONLY in this world, but also in that which is to come: -> (THE MILLENNIUM TO BE ESTABLISHED WITH GREAT POWER->THIRD HEAVEN - 2CORINTHIANS 12:3-5 combined with Luke 20:35-36).

22 And hath put all things under His feet (1Corinthians 15:24-28 and 51-55, take a look), and gave Him to be the head over all things to the Church,

23 Which is His body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all.

God will bring all of His elect to glory in the new heavens and earth that will replace this present heavens and earth at the second of coming of Christ Jesus.

If somehow that is every person ever born, then Hallelujah! I don't see that in the Bible, for as far as I understand the position of Christian Universalism, it would be dependent on man exercising his free will during this age or a future age, and the Bible teaches that man does not have free will. The Bible teaches that God is absolutely totally sovereign.

Whoever God chose before the foundation of the world and gave to His Son to be their Surety will be saved. No doubt about it. Whatever that number is, it is. (Ephesians 1:3-14)

How broad is “all things”?
Does “all” include Satan?
Does “all” include the false god MOLECH (to whom children were sacrificed)?
Does “all” include the lake of fire?

How would that possibly work: Satan and Molech and the Lake of Fire united in Jesus Christ?
I am reminded of the verse “what fellowship does light have with darkness?”

Here's one from the Old Testament.

Titus 2:11
English Standard Version
11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people

Colossians 1:19-20
English Standard Version
19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself ALL things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

Here is the YLT translation.

Colossians 1:19-20 YLT
19 because in him it did please all the fulness to tabernacle,
20 and through him to reconcile the all things to himself -- having made peace through the blood of his cross -- through him, whether the things upon the earth, whether the things in the heavens.

1 Timothy 4:10
English Standard Version
10 For to this end we toil and strive,[a] because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

If Jesus doesn't actually save all people then he is NOT the "savior of all people".

My understanding is that, upon death, some will indeed go into the proverbial "Lake of Fire" and while the process is punitive it is also restorative and purifying in nature and also temporary.

Hebrews 1:3
English Standard Version
3 He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

Everyone gets purified. Those of us who faithfully follow Christ are purified the nice and easy way upon death. The wicked, however, must go into the LOF to be purified. Everyone needs and gets refined. Yes, God is a refiner and he is refining us!

1 John 3:3
English Standard Version
3 And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.

This idea that if everyone is saved, then it really cheapens the offer of salvation, the offer of grace that God gives us.

With all due respect, and I mean that sincerely my brother, that sounds like something the older brother of the "prodigal son" would have said.

Please remember that God blessed you with the ability to know and follow Jesus. Eventually God will grant repentance to ALL beings and then they will see the truth and cheerfully choose to follow Jesus, although many will only be granted repentance through the LOF.

Saul met the definition of an "anti-Christ", yet Jesus appeared to him and Paul instantly repented. Why wouldn't Jesus do that for all beings?

1 John 2:22
Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.

Verses on repentance. Notice that repentance comes from the Father.

Acts 5:31
Verse Concepts
He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

Acts 11:18
When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.”

2 Timothy 2:25
with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,

Romans 2:4
Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

Jesus said that he would build his church and that the "Gates of Hell will NOT prevail"!

Prevail against what? Prevail against Jesus in his mission to reconcile and unite ALL THINGS to himself and then, ultimately, to our Father.

1 Corinthians 15:24
24 Then comes the end, when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father after destroying every rule and every authority and power.

Does “all” include Satan?

God created Satan for his own purposes. God is using Satan just like he uses all of us to advance his plan. I wonder if God was describing Satan in the verse below.

Isaiah 54:16 esv
Behold, I have created the smith
who blows the fire of coals
and produces a weapon for its purpose.
I have also created the ravager to destroy;

When the entire body of humanity has sworn allegiance to Christ, then (I believe) Satan and other dark entities will be granted the ability to change and come to the truth.

The picture below illustrates what it means for everyone to be under Jesus's feet. Please note that Jesus will rule the Kingdom until ALL enemies have freely chosen to follow him. With that Jesus will have completed his mission to unite ALL THINGS into him and then Jesus gives the completed Kingdom to the Father.

1 Corinthians 15:25
English Standard Version
25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

There's more. The doctrine that Jesus will save ALL THINGS is not fringe, it is the essential Word of God.

Revelation 21:5
English Standard Version
5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making ALL things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

One must ignore a mountain of scripture as well as deny the nature of God to believe the false doctrine that Jesus runs a forever torture chamber that makes Auschwitz look like a day camp for Girl Scouts.

1 John 4:7-14
English Standard Version
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
13 By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

Luke 23:34
English Standard Version
34 And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do...
