No, he's not. There are a lot of version-olaters on this board who claim to be fundamentalist, yet they add to scripture when they claim that only one translation is suitable for all people. This grievous sin of idolatry needs to be recognized, stopped, and repented of, right now!!!

I`ve only been on the B.B. for a few days, but
every thing I`ve posted in defence of the Bible

attacked and railed upon by liberals and S.B.
until I`m ready to scream.
I feel your pain. I've been here for over 6000 posts (what is wrong with me?) and I could scream at all the liberalism, too.

Don't you just love the way your posts get twisted around and interpreted to be something you never meant? :(

Look how my "too bad some have left their first love" remark has been configured to mean something different than what I meant.

So much for letting communication be a yea, yea, and a nay a nay. You can communicate a yea as a yea and a nay as a nay, but expect it to be misconstrued by those who have made misconjecture and misapplication an art form (if not a hobby). :(

I know, I know, this is a debate forum. (yawn)

People don't act like this at church & Sunday School and hopefully not in the work place.

Picture this: Picture a typical Sunday morning at a SB (like the one I attend where the KJV is in between two hymn books on the back of every pew) or an IFB church -

Picture someone standing up in the middle of the responsive reading (from the KJV) shouting "this is incomplete. This isn't the preserved Word of God! We need to read from this MV, people!"

Or in the middle of the sermon shouting at the Pastor: "Is that interpreted from the original Greek? What Commentary did you use? Oooh, not a Strongs Concordance! Is that from the Original Manuscripts?"

The men in white coats would be called.

But when you are anonymous on a board you can verbally attack or accuse a "brother or sister" and get by with it. (until the wood, hay, & stubble scenario one day) :(

Excellent reply John! Two people actually voted that you cannot come to Christ except if using the KJV. I guess the thief on the cross, the thousands at Pentacost, etc. all were misled along with the millions who thought they came to Christ before King James authorized a common man's Bible.

The KJO definition of a liberal:

Any born-again, God-fearing Christian that has enough education, formal or informal, to know the difference between a TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE and the Hebrew and Greek Testaments that comprise the Bible. :D

The first colonists were from the Netherlands, and they used the Dutch Pulpit Bible. No KJV there. The first English speaking colonists used the Geneva Bible. No KJV there, either. In fact, one of the reasons they left England was becasue they were forbidden from using the Geneva.

Hey liberals and King James scoffers...Got
something for you:
Isaiah 5:20-Woe unto them that call evil good,
and good evil; that put darkness for light, and
light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet,
and sweet for bitter!

That`s what your doing with your NIV,ASV,
RSV,NASV,LIVING BIBLE,NEW LIVING BIBLE etc.

Hello? Once again, that was the Geneva bible the was first brought over and used by the pilgrims.

I ain't liberal or politically correct - I just don't eat all your baloney. Especially that about G.A. Riplinger and her "scholarship".

OK. I'm game. Prove it. Show relevant, direct proof that it is the only Bible God preserved in English. But do this in light of the fact that God preserved His Word in English prior to 1611.
I believe the
1611 is the one to read, preach and teach from.I
highly recommend the Cambridge TEXT ONLY.
That is your prerogative... but it does not warrant attacks on other versions of God's Word nor does it justify your insenuation that God only approves of the KJV.
All other versions ,NIV etc, are Satan`s attack on the final authority...
How about those that preceded the KJV like the Geneva? How about all Bibles, including the originals, that preceded the KJV. None of them were exactly like it.

Most of those who oppose you are not liberals. In fact, they are more fundamentalist than you are since they derive their doctrines from the Bible.

KJVOnlyism does not come from the Bible. There are no scriptures that say or even suggest what you believe. Yours is a classic rejection of using scripture as the final authority. If something does not come from the Bible (KJV or otherwise) you shouldn't hold it as doctrine nor encourage others to do so.

Wanna get technical? The "first love" in Scripture is JESUS CHRIST, after His gospel was preached to those who'd never even heard of God at all. As for "hopping around", many verses are presented more clearly in one version than they may be in another. Remember, the AV 1611 translators wrote, "VARIETY OF THANSLATIONS is profitable for the understanding of the SENSE of the Scriptures". They clearly meant not just the words, but the thoughts behind them.
Uh, C R A N S T O N? The AV 1611 KJB translators said that in 1611. If they saw what yall call Bibles today they would bite their lips!

On the contrary, that is what you are doing with your attacks on faithful versions of God's Word.

The frightening part about this is that you haven't seemed to consider what God might think of those who would put words in His mouth by declaring that only the KJV is approved by God when He never said it. If God approves of even one other version, you are in danger of judgment for blaspheming His Word with your blanket condemnations. Your reaction will probably be that 'you know God only approves of the KJV'. However you cannot prove it biblically nor factually making your view highly presumptuous.

KJVO speaks where God has chosen to be silent. It is a very dangerous belief to have and even more dangerous to preach. I do not think God will hold blameless those who carelessly blaspheme His Word.

KJVO's like to point at fruit... so what do you do with the millions who are and have come to Christ with other versions? But moreover, even if one person is saved and sanctified through the use of a faithfully produced translation, you have committed blasphemy for calling it a work of Satan.

It is just as liberal to speak where God has not as it is to deny that He has spoken when He has.

I myself don't have a problem with knowing which book is the Bible...but I know someone who wants to switch to the KJBible, but wants to know "more" about it by reading something "extra"(?)!

Has anyone read "ONE BOOK STANDS ALONE..the key to believing the Bible" by Dr. Douglas D. Stauffer? I don't know him or the book. Thanks

You're welcome! ;)
I have read the KJV and nowhere does it declare that it is the only Word of God in English. If I missed it somewhere please let me know.

Thank you.
