will you watch a movie rated R?

No, I don't watch R rated movies. Even after my son was grown and there was something in a movie that was of a sexual nature, he would get up and leave the room. He said he was embarassed to watch something like that with his mother. I was also embarassed to watch it with my son. I never have cared with the graphic sexual content of most movies these days and a lot of the violence is just too much. That's why I don't watch many movies unless I know that neither of us will be embarassed watching them together.

I kinda ask myself "would the Lord be pleased if I watch this"? By that I already know what the answer is.

The absoulte most graphically violent, bloody movie I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot of them I wished I hadn't before we were saved.

 

I believe 'Unbreakable' was rated R. I enjoyed it and purchased it. I'm not even sure of the ratings of most movies we purchase but we won't watch things with graphic sex or the blood, guts and gore things.

It depends on the reason for the rating.

Was it really? Great movie.

Oh, never mind. If it were rated R, I still would have seen it. I will not watch a movie that has gratuitous sex, violence, etc. But if a movie contains some, and it is not gratuitous, then I will, depending on the overall content, probably see the movie.

Depends on the actual content that makes it an R movie.

 

We saw it in the theatre(we rarely go) and we loved it, I plan on buying it. I love his movies.

 

I love the movie, 'Pay it Forward' and believe it was R rated. I saw it on t.v. tho but would buy it.

Jim's buying us 'The Village' tonight. I'm glad to hear it was okay. I was afraid to mention I wanted to see it. Didn't need to be tarred and feathered this week.

 

No, it's a good movie Diane, not sex or nudity, or I think foul language, mild almost nothing violence. I plan on getting it too. but I stingy, won't spend money, I wait till someplace like Blockbuster starts selling them previously viewed.
LOL, or someone gives it to me as a gift, like I got for christmas, 3 movies I wanted.
I loved Pay it Forward. I think it might be one of the movies I have on layaway, if so I got it from the $5.50 bin at WalMart.

Not too bad if you ask me, considering most DVDs run for at least $20-25.

I have all his movies. The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, and The Village on DVD. They are all great.

Those are next on my list to collect Joseph, I think he is probably the very best director making movies right now.

He reminds me of a cross between Alfred Hitchcock and Stephen King.

yes, I think thats about right, he is really good, and actually has a vision for his film making instead conforming to the standard hollywood mold.

 

I don't generally watch movies, and haven't been in a theater since 1979.

R rated? Sure, Braveheart and We Were Soldiers were two of the best.

As to The Village , I enjoyed most of it but didn't like the ending. I did enjoy Signs. I like a genuinely scary movie but care nothing for gory movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Dawn of the Dead, both of which recent re-makes I did see, but Dawn ruined me on zombie movies and the nihilism of both was disturbing (yeah, I know--like my wife said, "What did you expect--Bambi?")

 

The Village was PG13. That was my error and I misled. We've allowed our 10 year old to watch it but told him ahead of time what the story was about. I won't spoil it for any of you. It's just an okay flick. Not the quality I expected from M. Night.......
