I am joining the membership of my new church which bye the way is a IFB church. I saw their doctrine book and they do not allow women deacons, nor women to lead or have authority over a man. Women can teach children and other women (which is Biblical). I notice they also do not allow women to pray out loud in a service or sunday school environment (which I do not agree with) but cant argue with.
Unlike the conservative SBC church where I last held a membership I am so happy that we do not have women deacons, and women small group leaders. Some of the SBC may not allow a woman to be a pastor or preach in the main service, but they allow them to teach adult sunday school and lead in other ways which is not biblical. I have read and studied the scriptures out and believe nearly 100% with my new church and am so happy to be in a Bible obedient church. Churches seem to vary on interpretation of 1 Tim 2-3, 1 Cor 14, and so we may have a grey area in regards to if a woman should and can lead a small group ministry or lead in worship.
If there are any Fundamentalist Baptists on this site does what I describe sound typical of your church? How do you deal with Southern Baptist that are disobedient in this area and have women teach adult SS, lead small group ministries, lead worship, etc.? At my last church I tried to persuade them with the Bible but they would not listen, so I eventually left.
I have been ton IFB churches were women had to wear head coverings, and even once IFB church where women could not teach children or other women without a man administrating and supervising the woman. I DISAGREE WITH THIS INTERPRETATION.
