World Magazine Names Franklin Graham "Daniel of the Year"

    WORLD MAGAZINE NAMES FRANKLIN GRAHAM ITS 'DANIEL OF THE YEAR'
    (Asheville, North Carolina-AP) -- The Christian news
    magazine WORLD has named the Reverend Franklin Graham its "Daniel
    of the Year."
    In this week's cover story, the magazine says that "In an
    age of religious relativism, Franklin Graham is not afraid to
    speak hard truths about Islam."
    The 50-year-old son of evangelist Billy Graham insists that
    he isn't on a crusade against Islam, but does believe Jesus's
    claim to be the only way to God. WORLD notes that "the very
    suggestion that any one belief might be superior to another is
    precisely the kind of heresy that will get a preacher tossed to
    the lions of political correctness. For that reason alone," it
    says, "Mr. Graham qualifies as WORLD's Daniel of the Year."
    Last year, the magazine bestowed the honor on Attorney
    General John Ashcroft.

    I am trying to remember. What exactly did Franklin Graham say about Islam? Didn't he call Mohammed a terrorist? Or was that some of the leaders of the Southern Baptist Convention? Either way, I agree with them both. [​IMG] Islam is a false religion, founded by a terrorist, which has bred nothing positive, and is a training ground for terrorists all over the world. I wonder if I will be named the Daniel of the year next year for speaking the truth... [​IMG] [​IMG]

    I'm surprised no one's noticed the real irony here. The article was written by Bob Jones IV.

    The verbal sparring between previous generations of Joneses and Grahams is almost legendary. Now a Jones descendant writes in praise of Graham's son.

    While the taking note of the long standing differences between the Jones' and Dr. Graham is fair comment, the taking of pot shots at either is not.

    Thanks for the offer, but between School, work, and possibly going back to fire school, I don't want to make any committments I might to give up later.

    I've been a mod before on a sailing board and it was a lot of fun, but I'm going to have to take a raincheck this time.
