In I Cor 3:8 the Bible tells us a man is worthy of his labor.

Sherwood Baptist Church thru its Sherwood Pictures has produced several Christian films. "Fireproof" cost $500,000 to produced and grossed 33 million dollars. Yet, the actors received no compensation.

Do you think that Sherwood has a moral obligation to pay the main actors (as opposed to "extras"?

Note: Kirk Cameron was not paid, but a donation was made to his non-profit Camp Firefly

I am not talking about a legal responsibility, but rather a moral one

What's the difference? I think the actors were aware the film could actually make money. I think there was an equally good chance the movie would tank and lose money. I know it may be hard to believe in this day and age but there are folks who are motivated to labor - without compensation - for what they believe in.

But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?
Matthew 20:13 KJV

... and there's that...

Define "moral obligation." Did Jesus establish a moral obligation to give a coat to a cold stranger if we have two coats and he has none?

How is "moral obligation" different from "commandment" and "law?"
