The great dragon, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, and the sin of him, preceded the creation of Adam and that the purpose of the creation of Adam was that the Son of God could come in the flesh for the purpose of destroying the works of the devil, inclusive of the power of death.

Actually it goes deeper than that, but it is Biblical truth at least in my humble opinon, which with some doesn't go far on this board.
