Would it be Christian to execute the Joker Killer?

Use the Law and judge, you will have fallen from grace. Read the 1st 3 chapters of Galatians and it will open it up for you.

the lord gave the command to execute those who took and killed others, shed "innocent blood"...

Crime demands the punishment, for that person wantonly killed one made in very image of God!

before the Law, God NEVER undid that command!

Every nation in history has had the right to protect itself against lawbreakers, and to set punishment and appropriate to the crime, and defend itself against attacks on law and order.

Of course, some nations were pagan and despotic, and were lawless themselves.

Stop the presses, Obama has now weighed in. In a speech tonight he is calling for more gun control measures. So see it was the AK 47, not James Holmes that killed. I say hang the AK 47. :BangHead:

It is sad to see threads like this that exhibit zero knowledge (Arbo excepted) of what the bible teaches concerning using lethal force. There are three facets of human response presented in scripture. How we should respond acting as an individual, how we should respond, acting through our local assembly, our church, and how we should respond acting through government.

Does the government carry the sword for nothing? Just what was the occupation of the last 5 people mentioned in Hebrews 11?

In this Day and Age....

...it would be politically incorrect to execute the red hair wacko.

However, when you consider what is cost effective, it would be prudent and wise stewardship to rid the system of people like him, Hasad, Cho, etc. After all, there are 12 families who will never again see their loved ones; they will never get to see their family lines continued; and the dead will never be able to grow old, love, and enjoy the good things live had to give them.

To answer the OP. Yes.

We knew this was coming. And we're going to see even more emphasis being placed on bullets rather than guns, themselves. Banning sales of certain types of ammo, limiting sales quantities, piling on taxes, etc. can be be just as effective. Let em keep their empty guns. They can use them as clubs.

Would that be permissable under this Age of Grace or not?

The world has always been under grace since the fall. It is anti-God not to execute, and God makes no exceptions for what is called being insane or mental illness when murder is committed.
Gen. 9:6
Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.
