Would This Scenario Require That We Stop Using the Tune to "Jesus Loves Me"?

    Suppose that some Satanists were to change the lyrics of "Jesus Loves Me" to "Satan Loves Me" and write a song of praise to Satan. Moreover, using the same tune that we use to sing "Jesus Love Me," they were to sing their song of praise to Satan in their worship of Satan.

    Do you think that we would then need to stop singing "Jesus Loves Me" to that tune?

    Is there any Bible that you think supports your answer?

    Unsure about the scenario you relate…

    But…

    There are a few groups or musicians that I used to enjoy but have stopped listening to because of their outspoken political views. I hear the song but am bothered by the groups message.

    There are other musicians that I know have views that I do not agree with, but that do not push their views upon their audience. I can enjoy their songs without hearing their politics.

    So at least for me, if a song carries a burden that outweighs the pleasure I get by listening to it, I’d turn it off and move on to another.
