I am not advocating civil unrest in any way. Like C4K, I fear that it could result in an America much worse than what we have now, maybe even sending us back to the stone age in the sense of splintering the country into many unions.

Still, I sense that people have gotten impatient with the way this government is representing them, and like those who are angry and upset, so am I!

I tend to think that an armed civil unrest may be just a few years away, depending on how the next two of three major elections come out!

In my area of southern California, I am seeing a total unrest with local city governments, as there are recalls going on in almost every city. On top of this, there are people protesting just abut any and every issue possible.

So, my question to you is in the following poll. How would you suggest Americans as a whole, make changes to the current gridlock in DC, lack of bipartisan leadership, and arrogance and isolationalism of politicians fro their constituents?

I am living on borrowed time and I want to die in peace so I am in a defensive mode but I agree that we are on the verge of a civil war because of excessive government spending and our inability to bring our armies home and defend our own borders. In a sense we are like the French who stranded one army in Egypt and lost another in Russia. We have been propping up Europe since 1945 for no good reason.

We are to live peaceably with all mankind as much as is possible. If we take part in civil unrest, we can't ccomplish it, imo.

Do you mean civil unrest. This implies violence. Or do you mean nonviolent resistance?

It can be violent but does not have to be. People take vague phrases like this and make them what they want.

Why to you CONSTANTLY post polls with a different subject matter than the thread title?

Once again, I am not answering your poll because you ask thirteen different questions.

I have also noticed that often the titles of his threads are misleading, or poorly thought out. This would be a most interesting topic if he meant the philosophical idea of civil unrest instead of attempting to promote a political agenda.

Leave it to a democrat to equate defending our liberty from a lawless government intent on enslaving us all with a "political agenda".

Your psychopathic heros aren't just out to enslave your political adversaries Crabby, they'll come after you and your's as well in due time. There's always a "night of the long knives". When psychopaths gain absolute power they become extremely nervous and paranoid.

Better keep an eye on your six.

    If ....

...you feel this way, don't read my posts. In the body of the poll is the question as to participating in civil unrest. I also ask what other ways [of civil unrest] a person may use to change America!

I'll bet you complain a lot about everything! Take my suggestion and put me on ignore. It will keep your blood pressure closer to normal :laugh::laugh:

    Crabby ....

I do my polls and post the way I feel led to do them. You say they are misleading and poorly thought out ..... maybe you see it that way, because the party you vehmently support is the master of misleading folks with poorly organized leaders!

I just think you are transposing your view and love of the DNC on my masterful attempts to get people thinking and discussing. Maybe you should put me on ignore too. Too much stress will kill you before you time! And I don't want to be part of an early departure! :wavey:

This country would never have been founded if the leaders then had that attitude.
    Well ...

    ... to be fair ...

... your polls are a bit disorganized. :love2:

..... I am a little like my polls. Something like old Columbo, it can be iritating, but I know what I want to get out of them, the polls, so if it works for me, I go with it!

    Exactly.

If there is violent unrest, the church should have no part in it.

I'm not even sure of nonviolent resistance when it comes to non-spiritual matters either. You never see the Apostles, or other Christians spoken of in the NT, fighting Rome. They submit to the civil law when it doesn't conflict with Christian faith and practice, they disobey Rome when it does, but then they submit to the punishment for disobedience even when it is unjust. Granted that is an argument from silence, but history backs me up.

There is no such thing as a "non-spiritual matter."

You know what I meant. Matters not directly bearing on Christian faith and practice.

National registration of all firearms. Heck, take it to the next level and say confiscation of them. This is not relating to the Christian faith or practice. If the .gov wants all my guns, that doesn't affect my ability to read the word of God, pray or worship.

Unless of course you're from the South were many seem to believe the Trinity is Father, Son and Remington...

On the surface of that example, perhaps. But nothing is ever as simple as it seems.

Obviously we are to honor the government and obey it, until such time as it acts contrary to the will of God. Guns and weaponry of other types are not spiritual by any stretch of the imagination. However, as far as the Bible is concerned, the use of guns is a matter of personal conviction. There is nothing unspiritual about owning a gun or knowing how to use one. There is nothing wrong with protecting oneself or loved ones, even if it involves the use of weapons. We need not pretend there is never a need for guns, but pointing a gun at a person should always be a last resort. We should seek to neutralize threats without violence whenever possible.

But when the government acts in such a way as to remove my ability to protect myself and my family, that also is a spiritual issue. The Bible gives me first responsibility in providing security and safety for my family, not the government. When the government goes so far as to remove that ability from me (your scenario) they they have essentially stripped me of my God-given expectation to take care of my household and the people in it.

You state that the government taking your guns doesn't rob you of the ability to pray, read your Bible, and worship. Are you sure of that? If they are going to take your guns, you have to ask "Why?" In all other historical circumstances in which guns are taken from the hands of the people, it is to assure the government they will be compliant in all things, including where and how they worship.

Certainly you can continue to do those spiritual duties in your home, away from the prying eyes of the government. Or can you? Ask the Chinese. Ask those who lived under the old Soviet. Worship requires fellowship. A gathering of two or more in His name places Him among you. Except those governments didn't want Him among the people, and they did (or do) everything in their power to prevent it. And they started by confiscating all the guns.

So, Bos, that's a spiritual issue, not a "non-spiritual" one. Please try again.
