De Niro's been f bombing the Prez all over the place, relentlessly. I knew it was only a matter of time before Trump delivered the KO. Too funny.

Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received to many shots to the head by real boxers in movies. I watched him last night and truly believe he may be “punch-drunk.” I guess he doesn’t...

De Niro is hiding something. He has some skeletons in his closet. [Slanderous gossip removed.]

Well, maybe he is a little punchy. Or maybe he's believing the hype. You play a tough guy long enough, you start to wonder if you really are a tough guy.
Genuine tough guys who are movie stars are rare: Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Claude VanDamme.... So many others are impressed with their own lack of skills.

Some years ago, Stephen Seagal bragged that no one could choke him out. Judo/MMA legend "Judo Gene" LeBell did just that. Seagal is a supposed tough guy because of his Aikido (not a "tough guy" martial art, because you cooperate to get thrown). Seagal denies this ever happened, but there were plenty of witnesses.

I do know Seagal is respected among MMA fighters. He reportedly has coached greats like Anderson Silva and Loyoto Machida. And there's a particular spectacular kick they've used they give him direct credit for, in fact right after a fight Silva gave Seagal direct credit.

But yes, I'm familiar with the story you mention and it's likely true.

My opinion as a martial artist? That's all hype. I doubt if those guys learned much from him. Aikido people (like Tai Chi people) have never succeeded in the Octagon. (Now if Seagal knew Aikijutsu.... ;)) But if a world famous martial arts actor wanted to hang around you, and you were an MMA dude who liked publicity, wouldn't you butter him up? :Cool

They give him credit, and I've seen clips of him coaching them. If he showed them a specific technique and they used it in a match and gave him credit, I'll give him credit also. Seagal is a legit martial artist. May not be the best, but the vast majority aren't.

Point taken, but I just don't like the guy. Think he is highly overrated, and a 馬鹿 (disclaimer: this is not a taboo word :D).

By the way, are you a martial artist?

Boxing, mostly, and some BJJ. I would use the term Martial Artist very loosely. My kids are pretty good martial artists with the forms and kicks and all that stuff.

Cool. Anything helps when in a self defense situation. At one point my wife, son and I were all working out together. I still work out some.

Think either bruce or Chuck in their prime would have shown MR steven S that their martial arts way pass his!
