Saw that a while back. Apologizing for being raped. Reminds me of another religion. At least they didn't stone her or splash acid.
Good for her for having the strength to stand up and speak out. That takes courage and lots of it.

Even though justice was served today, it's all so very sad.

Another cased was decided today, the Chris Settlemoir case. http://swordforums.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=810

A wonderful woman reminded us all that EVERY church should have a Child Protection Plan institutued. All church members who work with children at church and all staff members period should have a criminal background check and turn in their addresses for the past several years. My church has this policy.

It doesn't stop us from hugging the children and loving them, but it does make you aware of the presence of evil that can infiltrate a church - especially a church.

It won't stop 100% of these sad cases from happening, but it will thwart a lot of it.

As she told us on the other board, "When Willie Sutton was asked why he robbed banks, he said, 'That's where the money is.' Sex offenders will choose to be where children are."

Watch your children and young people at church brothers and sisters. No need to be cynical, hysterical, or paranoid, just cautious and careful.
