She's telling them to "obey", but does she personally know that they aren't obeying? She's blaming all the sodomy almost on them, but that was FOX news! Don't they take the conservative side of things like that? I'm glad that the guy finally got around to asking her about their sins, which she just avoided. When they stand before God, are they going to tell Him "Oh, you tried that before..."? That is the key to challenging the whole Phelps ideology. If God hates sin, then what about theirs? If He forgave theirs, then how do they know He won't forgive others'? This is what anybody who challenges them should go straight into rather than "oh, you're so mean; religion is about love", etc. This silences them every time. Anybody whose mission is "God and me together against the world" forgets which side of the "man vs. God" conflict they started out on.
And as Calvinists, they should be especially ashamed. The whole point of that doctrine is supposed to be our utter indebtedness to God, but they do not look indebted at all. This type of thing is one of the caricatures Calvinists sometimes make of "Pelagians".
As I always say, they were probably molested by the same gneder as children, and they snapped and are now taking it out on everyone else. Perhaps the next terrorist attack should hit them. Then what would they say? Probably some form of "see, this is all you sodomites' fault, we're suffering for your sin"/"we are suffering for the Cross". But then that's just what the terrorists think when they get killed (minus the Cross, of course).

You're right. I guess it's a similar style of English town name, and I got it mixed up. Sorry to all the Westovers out there.EdSutton said:I believe you mean Landover Baptist Church, as the spoof. I looked up Westover Baptist Church, and found several legit with that name, and no parodies, that I saw at first glance.

Hmm...I read the OP and didn't see any insults. The Phelps clan is their own worst enemy. Their hatred is sad and sick. I think there is some kind of mental illness at work in that bunch.Darron Steele said:However, they seem to have one thing in common with the person who created this thread: they seem to enjoy insulting people without direct provocation.
I think that may be the problem. See what inbreeding does? :laugh:Jack Matthews said:The church is mostly family members. You have to wonder how they get DNA in there from outside.

This thread does not even fit in this forum because interdenominational doctrinal disagreement is not an issue of this thread.
