Matthew, Chapter 5

23:Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24:Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

So is this saying that when you do something wrong to another person...you have to go to them and make it right by them before God will accept your offering?

Hi Kit!

..."Have to"??

Well, you are sort of turning it into a legalistic sort of thing.

I think its more case of where Gods heart is in this situation.
.

God seems to be indicating that in this situation His primary concern is that His children..us..are being loving towards each other.

So much so that God would rather that HE be slighted, rather than any of His kids.

And that is VERY MUCH a "God thing", by the way. :wavey:

Praise the Lord.

First off, how did you get AIC's Bible - I think he wants it back.

Secondly, where in the text is "have to"?

Thirdly, where are we taking our gift and what does the altar look like?
