How do you integrate young people into your churches?

-I do not mean Youth Group since it is the golden calf in most churches -so please do not respond with this

what are they allowed to do or not allowed to do in ministry?

    thanks

Our young men start off on the ushers' crew. Then are used as our ministries need them

Helping in Childrens' or Junior Church. Working in any of the social functions (we have "lunch on the grounds" after the Morning Sun. service.) We have some junior boys who have been "bussing tables" for that function for years. We aren't all that big of a congregation maybe 120 on a Sun. AM. So, we don't have that many "young people" to begin with. We skew more to older couples and singles. Such are the demographics of a San Francisco church.

    Youth group :Biggrin.

We have a strong youth ministry and a very good youth pastor who meets with the group throughout the week. The youth group is a time of fellowship, Bible study and accountability. But it is also geared towards developing leaders while meeting the needs and concerns unique to the group.

They are integrated into the congregation by being very active in church. The whole church is involved in discipline these young people. Fortunately we have a very active older population who mentors the youth as well.

The reason our youth group is so essential is church is not something one attends. These young men and women interact with one another in some form on a daily basis outside of church and having a youth group forms discipleship relationships that does not stop when they exit the church building.

We pay them to process poultry with us on the farm, plus other farm work. Part of the chickens we process with them are sold as part of our business, the other part are tithed to our Church to families that may want NonGmo/Healthy chicken, but can't afford it. We give our chicken to these families at-cost.

We've had youth help us mend fences, clear brush, move livestock, etc. They get paid to work outside, and they learn countless useful life skills.

That is good. It is called "discipleship". Too many churches have started outsourcing rather than developing.

We only have care for our children until they are 4 years old. Then they are expected to join the congregation in the main sanctuary. In the summer we have all church Sunday School.
My church averages around 170 in one service on Sundays. The age range is from newborn to almost 100. The congregation is grace filled and we integrate hymns with contemporary songs, but all lyrics must be Godward and teach truths about God. Our sermons are verse by verse teaching. I love my church.
