Your favorite concert?

Mine was probably Carmen. I know that he is comedic and I don't exactly agree with his theology, but he was alone and very serious about his work.

 

Secular: Chicago (several times over the years). they put on a great show.

Christian: The group Glad, one of their acappella concerts. Wow. 5 guys, perfect pitch, and an uncanny ear for hearing each others' parts. Their talent is unmatched.

Worst concert? Years & years ago, during my college days, I went to a Hank Williams Jr. concert (I was begged by a couple of redneck friends). I've never seen anyone drunker in my life (that was conscious). We all should have gotten a full refund.

One good thing about that concert, though: It was basically a 90-minute infomercial regarding what drunkenness can do to one's body, life, and reputation.

 

Seeing Dire Straits twice was in first place until I got front and centre at a Tommy Emmanuel (C.G.P.) show Doubt anything will ever beat that in this life.....the next is another story

So thats what I ahve to look forward to - lol . I am taking our youth to a Toby Mac and Barlow Girl concert in Novemeber lol.

Casting Crowns has been by FAR my favorite concert as well. It wasnt a show, but a worship time.

 

I went to a Steven Curtis Chapman concert ==when that Magnificent obsession one was out. I was moved at that concert.

 

Christian - Phil Keaggy in Virginia, 1982. He was fantastic & had a super hot band.

Secular - Crosby, Stills, & Nash opening up for the Grateful Dead, in Buffalo, 1990.

 

Hard to say. The guys from Jacob's Trouble were real jerks, but I remember one set they did at Creation that was great.

Could be any one of a number of Jimmy Buffett concerts. The first one is still memorable because it was just him and Steve Goodman.



Jerry Jeff Walker in Key West last year. Pouring rain and he insisted on going on, anyway.

Bill Monroe at the TLA in Philadelphia, just before he passed away.

Jethro Tull at the Electric Factory in '97 or '98. Ian Anderson had just broken his legs in a bizzare on stage accident two weeks before, so he was in a wheelchair. That was the night that I realized that Martin Barre must be one of the greatest guitarists I've ever heard.

 

Casting Crowns... and they are going to be in Charleston WV on NOV 15th!
I will be there... .along with some others from our church.

And that is not too far for some of you all to travel too... especially, the ones in Kentucky, Ohio....

I can't wait... if you get tickets... Pm me, and we will meet somewhere!

I wouldn't. I saw him at his nightclub in NYC about three years ago. It was one of the few shows I ever walked out on. Ronnie Spector was playing in the next room, so we left the King show and snuck into the Ronnie Spector show, which wasn't bad.

On the other hand, he's in pretty bad health right now, so if you just want to be able to say that you saw him while he was alive, you might want to go while you can.

Personally, I say save your money and wait until Jimmy Thackery or Michael Hill comes to town and go see him, instead.

 

For my 50th birthday, my wife and my brother arranged for my wife and our two daughters (24 & 22 at the time) to take me to a Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young, concert here in Nashville. A family outing for my birthday! What could be better!

The Cathedral Quartet in Huntington WV back in 1998. They have been my favorite group and still love to hear them on cassettes and CDs.

Now three of the five members are in Heaven today. (George Younce, Glenn Payne, and Roger Bennett)

 

The Down From the Mountain Tour the year after the movie "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" was released.

 

I hate to say it, but Mike's right. I've seen BB about 20 times, going back to 1977. He ain't what he used to be. The guy is worth hearing on record, but I wouldn't go to his shows, anymore.
